I've got a 2015 A3 2.0TDI Sline, specced with the adaptive Xenon plus and High Tech Nav Audi Connect. I have just noticed something when coming into the dark driving.

I thought the beam pattern was dependent on speed, and it is, but it also seems to take the data from the navigation system.

When driving on roads coloured white on the map, minor roads, the pattern is low with a defined edge at the top ] , when on yellow roads the pattern throws further and has a less defined edge, sort of traditional beam where one light projects further than the other :::.. Even at the same speed on different roads, this happens.

I found this in relation to the A8

Seems like the A3 has this now also, any ideas or experience of this??

Thanks.

The static cornering lights work partly on map data, I know that much...

Could be, though not really noticed it myself

I think the adaptive xenons react to steering input - not sure about any link to map data like the LED headlamps.

Yeh I have pooled along and noticed the corner lights flag up if I past a junction and dim off when I have passed.

This is what the configurator says ....
