Hi chaps,

I recently bought a retrofit kit for an auto dimming mirror with the auto light switch and coming home switch.

I have searched on here for the retrofit instructions but there doesn't seem to be a concise guide.

I have the mirror with a 3 pin plug (auto dimming plug) which I'm hoping will plug into a loom stashed behind the interior light factory fitted.

I then have 2x 3 wire looms taped together and one single wire.

These wires have been cut off the other end so I have no connector or terminal pins.

Does anyone have any pin outs for these parts or a wiring diagram? I found a guide for the b6 which was pretty good but I read that a lot of it is different for a b7? I'm a merc van tech so pretty handy, can easily join the wires and recrimp terminals etc. I also have vcds to enable the new options once fitted.

I just want to get a good understanding of what goes where before I start messing around with the Mrs car!

Any help would be great.

I have a large Crack in my windscreen currently so will be getting that replaced anyway. Might as well get this fitted at the same time.

Only issue now is finding out where the looms go and how to wire them in, whether I need the Audi repair looms to have to correct terminals to pin the plugs they go to.

Does anyone have any info to say if it is the same as the b6 guide in audizine?

i will look on here as i have crack on the screen aswell .... recently bought DRL and CH/LH button and i want to get all this aswelll !
Will be very helpfull for us if anyone has more info
 
Does anyone have any info? I'm wondering if NHN might be able to help with some installation tips in exchange for beer tokens?

Failing that I will get a contact from vw to send me the wiring diagrams and work it out myself!

Thanks for the heads up. I don't mind a bit of wiring it's just finding the correct terminals that is tricky and getting a reliable source!

I'll try and find a wiring diagram. I read that most vehicles have the rear view loom behind the interior light? I'll have a look tomorrow, if it does it just leaves 7 wires. 2 sets of 3 and a single one. Can't be that hard!

Then the 2 wires for the ch/lh function and jobs a good un! I want to get it all done and then get the screen swapped over. The Mrs will never know!

I never got any further with this, I couldn't find the correct diagrams to suss out what is needed. I've still got the kit, I'm sure I will get round to it one day!
 
Ok, I have been trawling this site and links out to other sites to find wiring for these.
Link in post 7 of this thread, links to a thread; use the link in post 2 to the next thread, and then the link in post 11 of that thread. The OP of the resultant post provides a good description.

I'm not a member of that forum, so I can't get to the wiring diagrams...
