Hi guys,

Anyone know what this noise is. I'm guessing it's the Throttle body flap motor gone bad?. The check engine light is on too, would the throttle body cause this.

Interesting noise that! One way to check for sure, is to switch the engine off, remove the main boost pipe, by pulling the U-shaped clip towards you and then get someone to turn the ignition on and see if the throttle body is opening/closing (using a mirror to see if the flap is moving).

Mine jammed open recently, bringing the engine light on, but the car was still usable. Got a new one for about £150. Only thing is though, I cleaned the EGR valve at the same time and after re-fitting I got a new error code: EGR insufficient flow <--- funny that, bearing in mind it's clean. I do wonder if it detects that there is a difference in pressure between the clean EGR valve and the dirty section of the whole EGR system (probably the EGR cooler and pipe).
