goubo stroker gt35 build nears completion

300bhp+/ litre is really some achievemen...I don't really see many ferraris around my way but there is a white gtr that's on the hit list haha

I know the feeling....there are hordes of AMG C63s down here, plus various BM's,and they don't come off very well.
I know it's childish, but it is fun occasionally.

Now that's a great result.

You'll have one happy client there,Badger.
Well done.

One question and you know I'm not picking or having a dig at your work ... It's the torque peak or rather the rpm it's coming at.

Is that down to the mapping or the turbo/engine combination?

Mine uses a GTX3582 on a nominal 2L engine but the peak torque is at a lower rpm but also uses a very different ECU so I'm just interested in how this all works out.

Ahh. Edit.
Different cam specs also no doubt.
You're using a set of your special ones aren't you!
non vvt head, so its lazier than say tufftys in spool terms.
on the road its not as bad as the plot would suggest.. which is normal..

on the 6XX run... more boosts... Max I would run one on.
Top secret level.. :p

I could tell you what mine had to run to get those figures but you'd probably have to come down here and kill me!

Well done all the same.

Switchable maps helps keep it on suitable for the "moment" settings...
I would'nt run it on the max one other than for very occasional sh1ts and giggles moments.. Its running very hard.. Biggest difference is the torque from the extra boost on the highest map.. but with big boost/torque comes epic heat also.. It gives more torque than it does power relative psi/bhp kinda scenario.

As a daily setting 1.5bar would be personal choice.

I know what you're getting at with the heat side of things.

Mine is obviously a very different car,but with the huge increase in torque from the new turbo and ECU,despite a lot of heat treatments for the exhaust and turbo, there is a lot more underbonnet heat now.

That's at 1.9bar for the daily setting, and the 2.1bar setting has been removed until the rest of the exhaust is dealt with.

Are your maps switchable whilst running under load?

Really? Mine kept wheel spinning in 3 and 4 if i really gave it some welly hence why I'm doing the gearbox with diffs and all the trimmings

Yeah been totally fine so far

I think you'll find the Quaife makes a big difference.

The only problem I found with it was its tendency to fight with the TC which resulted in big understeer on a wet road.
Turning off the TC cured that.

yep, switchable live if desired.

Graph of the dyno run on map 1.....I've only been driving the car on map 3 of late as the 533bhp on map 3 is just about right for daily use haha

Still not had the car in map1 yet this was map2 to be honest for me personally there is no need at all for map1...map3 is amazing map2 is just crazy and map1 would be just taking the **** lol......had thoughts of getting the rear seats and the front two heated seats out and two lightweight buckets put in as would be good to lose some weight in the car but if I do is need an other car as currently my s3 is my daily

Tufty's is perfect inside and out....I stand in awe of the finish on that car,as mine usually looks like it's been off-roading.

I think the quality of Bill's work on 8L big turbo stroker engines is fantastic...he's almost single handedly pushing the limits there, and clearly doing it right,as the engines don't break, and they do deliver.

I'll second that his work is fantastic...well he's delivered more than I'd hoped for to be honest I think that's also due to the fact he isnt just a engine tuner he builds them too

That's a very good point.

My previous experiences have been with people who either build and race,or do one or the other.
Those influences make a huge difference to the way a tuner thinks and develops their products, and usually enables them to deliver something that works and won't blow up.

Most of those guys don't want engines that explode,as they can't finish races or it ruins their reputation as well.
My current rebuild begun life at 40 000 miles, and has run the last 37 000 miles at not less than 480bhp so I'm pretty sure it's dependable, and I think in Bill, you've got someone that can do the same for the 8L.

It's still fun,isn't it!

great engine... another great job

bill does this head have deck cooling?

Well the car is parked up for a bit due to work  but gets me funds to do a few more things to the car

New discs all round
(Maybe) Remove front and rear seats and have two buckets like jardo had in his
Get a better suspension set up
(Maybe) get the paint work tidied up

They are astonishing results, mental power. Great work there , surely this is the most powerful s3 8l on as.net?
You should PM some of the s3 8v boys running stage 1 I'd like to see a head to head video of that ;-)

I think the head and manifold design on the 8V is going to prove problematic for big power on that model.

They're a long way off and in the situation the 8P market was in a few years ago, with few tuners, and fewer parts, even if you leave the integrated head/manifold out of the equation.
I think that Goubo1's car would probably win that contest.....just a bit....LOL

Not that it matters to me but For now i think it might be the highest powered if not it will be close to it for a s3 8l with the 1.8 block but there are a few builds due for mapping and completion

It has some proper top end pull so it does the more I rev the more badger torque I get :relaxed:
