hi all,

Bought my '10 plate B8 last August, so the used car warranty is almost up, it went in for its End of Warranty check today, never had one of these before on any of my used cars, nothing was found which is great....apart from them saying it needs front discs and pads.

not bad i'd say

Haha, I thought the same, it went through its mot in April and they were 75% worn..they were probably wanting me to panic and say 'oh..oh...best you do them now then' seeing I had my 3 yr old with me..never gave me a quote though, they love to give a quote don't they. I'll do them myself, shouldn't be too difficult, done lots before on other cars

You have to love the service advisors faces when you say I'll do it myself...you can almost hear the whimper in their voice as their up-selling bonus goes flying out the door. :)

When I had my BMW it went in for an FOC service (had a service pack) - Knights phoned me 6 times and in the end wanted to do £1Ks worth of additional work including £66 wiper blades and £185 coolant change. On the last call the lady said "shall I not bother you again with additional work as your obviously not interested?"

Exactly that!!

LEAVE ME ALONE haha!

I'm handy with spanners, just done an engine and gearbox conversion on my mk3.5 Golf, 2.0l 8v auto to 2.0 16v manual.
