I have a 2013 Black edition with Sat Nav and the HDD system I am using my old iPod and its on the blink so I am going to replace it but what version do I need so the album art is displayed in the centre console ?
Which version of an iPod do i need for the album art to work

So this took a while but I git there in the end ....
Audi have 3 different cable packs for the AMI glove box connection Yellow, Green & white. and depending on which apple device you have will decide which cable you need I had to test all three to find the one that worked with my in car system.
I needed the Yellow one.

That's a very good question ... I should have been a bit clearer ...
This is the cable I was talking about to work with my 5th generation ipod touch this also works with an ipone 5 and 6

ok, I see, not a classic iPod then. iPod touch and iPhone use different protocols to the later touches and phones.
I have all 5 leads from Audi, cam free with the car and none of them allow album art for my 160Gb iPod classic which is a shame as its full and has all my CD's on it. It's a permanent fixture in the car and would have loved album art from it.
