As most know I ordered with Southend Audi on April 15th (Having originally paid my 1000 deposit in January). I am still yet to receive a Build Week. The dealer hasn't got a clue what is going on and Audi UK keep saying that they are prioritising build weeks for customer cars over stock cars but that still appears to be garbage. Adding the horror stories from Dan and others on the other forum regarding issues with their delivered cars I am starting to waver. Never considered anything else but taking guaranteed delivery of a facelifted A45 in September/October or potentially an even better deal of a fully loaded outgoing A45 for 10k less than my RS3 spec thru car wow is beginning to make me look in a different direction. Wanted the RS3 from day 1 and love that 5 cylinder sound but I have to say that my patience and constant fobbing off is wearing thin now. The other option is to use my increasing frustration as a bargaining tool for a discount but I doubt that will get me far with the demand. I( must admit that a pretty much fully loaded A45 for 36k is tempting, even if its the outgoing model.

 i ordered on friday via southend after they said nov delivery....... maybe i will be cancelling it too....

Steve, I went into Southend Audi the last weekend in March to give them my spec so they could order on the first day that orders could be placed. Said I really wanted one of the first ones in the country as I wanted it for this summer. I was told they would do all they can, as Ive said I still have no build week. I will be luck to get one for next summer at this rate. Cheers Nimbus maybe I will mention to Claire.

ive a pretty good contact in southend, ill push for some info. simply not good enough is it.

Steve, dealing with Matt and also spoken with Ian as well. The problem is that they don't have a clue what is going on at Audi UK and I seem to know more from picking up conversations on the forums. Audi UK have been giving me a regular call every Wednesday to "update" me as well. Last week it was that all customer orders are being prioritised over stock orders and will have a build week within 2 weeks. but knowing that some got Build weeks of June 2016 over the weekend. I am now thinking of telling em to shove it and get the Merc

Ball's, Ian is my contact....... i'll give them a few days and put a call in.

Put it this way I have given up all hope of getting one in 2015, so based on my experience I wouldn't bank on getting one for Christmas mate.

It is poor. You have to question is demand really so high....or does the factory have QA problems and the result is production is painfully slow?!?

The big frustration is lack of visibility of the true ordering process. Ordering early was no guarantee of a car. Others that have ordered after me have now taken delivery with pretty much identical Specs (Cav for example) From the outside it just appears that they pull a name out of the hat. When I first walked in at the start of this year and they had of told me that I would not get a car until 2016 I would have walked out.

its just occured to me, altho should have expected it, I was told they had some cars on order that they could possibly alter the spec on to suit my needs. this is obviously a lie as they cant even get the existing orders sorted. Email going over now.......

I had a A45 for 24 hours a couple of week ago - it was a ****** good / quick car

Id say that is a pile of steaming **** Steve. According to my conversations with Southend they have not received a BW for any of their orders or stock cars.

I dealt with Stansted who are also part of Essex Audi. I had a test drive on the first day it was available and they had a 'few' build slots.
Ordered at start of July and immediately got a BW of 39 and the impression I had was that the other slots had been filled.
Previously when I've bought other cars from them, if they can't get you a build week, they won't take your deposit.
(So Essex Audi definitely had slots after taking your order in April)

Cheers for the heads up Alex. Ill mention that on my next call with them. Ive had enough of the Mr Nice Guy approach now to be honest. Cancellation threats are imminent.

feel free to mention me for some leverage too mate, I'm very tempted to have a search about and cancel my order with them if nothing is sorted BW wise within a few weeks. In fact might call chingford as they are pretty handy via work for me.

I still have no official bw unlike I was told on sat. It was just an estimated bw from the guy in charge of exclusive orders which I found out today. I have placed another order for a std colour today and been given a build week of 04 next year. the order system is crazy! Looks like il have to possibly find a buyer for a 6 month old rs3 next summer...hope I don't have too much of a hit!

Spent 2 hours in the Merc dealership today running over my predicament with Audi and going into the new A45 in detail. As you can imagine they are desperate to nick my order and have bent over backwards. Willing to do me a vehicle with every option box ticked (50,995) list price for the same deposit and monthly payments and GFMV as my 46k RS3 order with no build week. I would also have the car on September 27th. Pretty much a no brainer to be honest. I love the 5 cyclinder of the RS3 but like for like on spec and especially on what is standard it is no competition. Think my mind is made up.

Were you really ?
I thought it was a good / quick / lovely sounding car and that was for the old one .
I reckon with another 30bhp it'd be a great fun car to drive

I thought it (A45 AMG) was expensive for the quality of ride, materials, etc. and didn't find it a great drive or 'fun' and the fake noise and exhaust pops got boring very quickly.

He needs to take one out him self really
Once ya blinkered to audi it'll be hard to shift - even with being treated ***** ( like it seems a lot of people on here are being )

Yes, I just found the power a bit flat compared to the 5 cyl engine. The sound wasn't anything to write home about in IMO. I think facelift will be better. For what's its worth, I do think the a45 with aero looks better than the rs3

You are right, as everyone prefers different

Did the one you went out in have sports exhaust mate ?
I do agree that there was a bit of lag before it shot off .
I bet the new one has quite a few flaws ironed out

Yep, had the sports exhaust, the lag on the transmission was pretty frustrating

Spoke with Southend Audi earlier, salemans day off. so without a response from them called Chelmsford Audi, earliest available BW they can get is 6, for a match delivery. I'll make a few calls tomorrow and see if I can better that then give them a call and see what they say.

Blackburn Audi are still quoting December deliveries for orders placed now

I'll happily throw a call to them in the morning and see, run it in en route home sounds perfect

I got behind an A45 on the way home tonight, it had the Tesco shopping rear spoiler on the back - horrible and reminiscent on the 80s ripspeed bolt on extra!. It was quick, but with my window down, my S3 in sports mode drowned on the A45.

I did take one for drive before I bought the S3, and I didn't feel the suspension was up to much; 4x2 springs to mind!

Yep before i put the order for the rs3 in i went to have a go in the a45. I noticed the transmission straight away, the sales guy couldnt sell it to me, he knew it himself. Think it looks ok from the outside, its not what merc normally do with their cars, think it has paid off as i have seen aot of them. The ipad thing is abit annoying, the seats look and feel amazing, would love those seats in the rs. But to be honest if there was no rs3 and i wanted a new car i probably would go for it

I'm starting to think about cancelling (again..), just thinking that for 50k and seeing that I don't need the room, maybe I would be better going down the Cayman route. But then will I miss the power? It's so hard to decide!! Doesn't help that everything on a Porsche is an option, very easy to spend upwards of 20k just on the options :(

Porsche will do me a Cayman S for £25 p/m more, got a test drive on Sunday :whistle2:

Yeah.. PDK, 911 wheels, sports chrono, full nav, bose, red interior. Really wanted the sport styling pack, but they've got this car already and will do a deal on it

I found the suspension on the A45 firm but that's what made it corner so well IMO hate cars that wallow runs bends, as for the sound there's nothing fake about it only fuel dropped in the exhaust like 99% of Audis RS models and as for suggesting the S3 would drown out a sports exhaust A45 lol the S3 sounds naff in comparison to either the A45 or RS3

I have left a deposit, with a car maybe for June.. If i cancel do you get the deposit back??

Did they advise that deposit was no refundable ? If so then probs not
