Help! Im locked out!

I'm in a spot of bother chaps...... Im locked out and neither the fob nor key will unlock the car.

The story so far...
Starter motor failed on Monday, AA tow started the car and I drove home and parked on the drive.
Yesterday I jacked the car up, disconnected the battery and removed the starter. Battery reconnected, Went to put my tools in the boot but the car was now locked and wouldnt unlock.
I expected the fob to need a resync as Id disconnected the battery but the key not working has stumped me.
Any suggestions before I reach for a house brick?
 
Key should work in the door lock. If it doesn't it's had a lock set Change at some point which I think will be brick through window lol.
 
Had to admit defeat and call the AA. Probably best not mention on a public forum how they managed it but It would only unlock from the inside drivers door and now the fob is fine. But the key still wont work in the lock.
It was working fine via key last winter as it somehow unsync'd the remotes and I had to use the key for a few days. Door card off for further investigation methinks.​
 
i had mine do something similar once. fob nor key worked, not even the tailgate. after 20 mins i called the AA. just as he pulled up, i gave it one more try and.... yes you guessed it, it unlocked!
 
The Avant doesn't have a key lock on the boot, well mine doesn't anyway.
