So been thinking about a new exhaust for my cab, but I'm cheap... so I found 2 meters of exhaust pipe on ebay for under £40. I can get a welder that's not a problem and you can buy pre bent pipe so... what do you guys think? Give it a go? Just back boxes I haven't found any of them yet. Don't want it to sound like a tank. Just want it to sound more meaty over 3000rpm

If this helps I had this made for my cab Quattro don't no if the pipe work is the same for a front wheel drive car guessing it won't be the same

Very nice! do u still have stock exhaust after this part? I have the 1.8t what is yours? And how did the sound change?

Yes stock back boxes and it's a 1.8t Quattro .. It's hardly any louder if any at all

I've had loads of steel pipe in the shed for ages so really need to do this is it will work nicely with my voted rear

I have 3.0 Quattro avant with a full std system on it and it just don't tickle me that much sound wise,
I was looking into gutting out the pre cats and heard that improves the sound and makes it fart and burble, then I came across this video and wondering if anybody had any tips on previous experiences. Cause I quite like the sound of this.

Cheers

NIce exhaust note. As its a V6, a complete gut of the restictions (cat, middle resonator and back box) will not make it sound chavvy. If anything it will make that V6 rumble become more apparent. If youre worried, gut everything but then go for a slim cutom back box.

So pretty much a full straight pipe system, I have 3 young kids so I'm also concerned about the interior drone, it doesn't bother me but obviously don't want to deafen the kids.
Don't know wether to remove the centre resonator or the back boxes? Any suggestions?

I'm currently havering problems with one of my 4 cats in my 2.4 v6, one is breaking up and making it very raspy and plenty of pops, abit to much so, thinking about cutting the two secondary cats out and leaving it at that, has anyone done this, if so what effects will it have on emissions/noise levels? Thanks sorry for the hijack!!
