[Jun 28, 2015] North Yorkshire Moors Drive Out In Aid of Charity (Harrogate, North Yorkshire)

As you know Matti.... I'm staying in Liverpool next weekend.
Fingers crossed I can get away from Liverpool at a reasonable time and hopefully catch up with the rest at the pit stop ready for part 2.
 
Might just be me being thick here but I can't seem to get the directions for the am route (I can see the map ok) but I can print the directions and map for the pm route.
 
Hold on folks after a dry run yesterday the Google directions are pants, so I will endeavour to rewrite them this eve. I may re-jig part of the afternoon trip - the drive to Rievaulx was a bit tedious.

Yes, but they weren't loose anymore. Didn't hear a single chip in the wheel arches, as I cringed when I first saw them!!
 
Can I remind everyone coming to bring cameras & video / action cams to capture the day. On-board and images of other participants would be brill.
 
Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to attend this event.

I stupidly forgot that I have a stag do to attend this weekend in Chester and although technically I will be available on Sunday, I don't think I will be in any fit state to drive nor feel too cracky to be subjected to 'spirited driving'

Really sorry I can't make it @Helifella but I wish you the best of luck and hope the day goes to plan.

I should have my camera with me for some shots but as I'm driving I might have to see if my Dad will get a couple of shots on the move if possible.
Sorry, no action cams as yet. There on the shopping list possibly in the next few months or so... Who knows... :whistle2:

After much deliberation I have reduced the distance of the afternoon route making the latter part more straight forward and as direct as possible back to Harrogate Audi.

I'm sorry to advise that we won't now be able to make it. This might sound ridiculous but our cat passed away on Thursday and it's had a very upsetting effect, my wife is really cut up about it, I was hoping the day out would help but she doesn't feel up to it so I'm afraid we won't be coming. I was really looking forward to meeting up with everyone, I still want to support the event so if you let me have details of how I can make a donation I'll happily contribute. Once again apologies but I'm sure all the pet lovers will understand. Hope you guys have a great time.

All docs printed fine thanks. Look forward to tomorrow but pity about the weather. Me and Mrs P and John (RS3) and his dad will be driving over from East Yorkshire setting off at 7.30am to get to Harrogate Audi for 8.30. Can you confirm we are all departing en masse at 9.00am?
 
@Helifella Pace notes printed fine but can't see either of the routes... i get a 404 error for each of the links. Am defo coming though and have sent you a text as requested so you've got my number. See you at 8:45am
 
Car is all cleaned and ready to go! I think my mum's partner is coming along too in a TT Quattro Sport.

I've got keys for the posts and i'll be at Harrogate Audi from 8am hopefully.

We've got stickers to put on, brief then off!

I'm still unable to go but I will be at Audi for 8am with my camera. I'm under a tight schedule, so please come up to me if you want a photo.

Pace notes printed ok. Maps print ok out. May take a tablet device for a better quality image of maps as a backup.

So sorry to hear your sad news, Know how you feel, we lost our mog to the road after 17yrs, wifey & I gutted.

We took my iPad (with sim) last week and with the maps open through a browser our position was viewable most of the way despite the rubbish mobile signal over them there 'ills!

I even managed to clay and seal the car this eve - first time since getting it. I was getting fed up of the gritty feel when washing it, now it's amazballs as the kidz say.

Stickers on too.

My parents will be joining in from Thirsk onwards so look out for a grey VW Touran, Dad put an ASN sticker on rear so give them a toot.

Just sorting out my GoPro now.

Thanks @Sandra I've been quite worried that I'd never get to this stage, it's taken some sorting and hoping guys would come.

The designs for the stickers didn't take long - easy if you have the right software!
The stickers cost a bomb though to say there's only 30 of them!


I try my best! The way i see it, if i'm in a position where i can offer assistance in an area nobody else can, i'll do my best!

And great chatting to you and your good lady, @smokeymike .

It was 12 degrees across the tops when we were in the clouds.:cold: But it all added to the camaraderie!:friends:

I can think of a dozen equally worthy charities, and I'd be happy to nominate one of them if folks were happy for me to do so?

I had a fantastic day on Sunday, was absolutely shattered afterwards! The route was great @Helifella. Not what I was expecting, better than what I was expecting! I think we had just the right number of cars, many more and we would have had to stop to regroup every 10 miles!

Thank you @Helifella for organising it.

Can't wait for next years!
