Hey all,

Posted the other day in the sat nav sub but I don't think it's frequented quite as much so I'm asking here as well.

I'm looking to find where I can obtain the discs necessary for updating my RNS-E + maps if possible.
According to the setup I currently have the following:
SW: 0550
HW: H73
Map: M1N061018_EN0603.

What is the latest map that will work with a (i think) mk1 RNS-E?

Any help or links to the threads I have missed is appreciated.
Cheers

2015 disk works
verbatim @2x speed
pioneer 106 drive

plus theres a newer firmware for the rnse

Sorry if I sound stupid but I may need this spelled out for me; Does 2015 disc included the firmware update + will install automatically?

I need to get Audi to first unlock the disc tray however when I called audi they said that my car didn't come with it from factory so will they still unlock this for free?

Mate, just find someone local with VCDS to unlock the cd tray and sort them a few beer tokens.

no 2015 version does come with updated firmware, does have an original ,or a speed cam version though also suppose to support 7 digit post code

Hey Hollow,

Cheers for replying again. What you've written sounds like it contradicts itself? Do all satnav discs that are newer than the one I have come with the firmware updates? ie I wouldn't need a different disc to update the firmware as I want to be able to use an aux input.

If the latest 2015 discs does allow full post codes, I will get myself a new sat nav disc, but I have my doubts until someone can confirm.

I will check later today.

When I put the 2015 disc into my car, it didn't update the firmware in the same way I've seen it do in the past...

What firmware did you have before? I have a copy of the 2014 disc and I just want it to be updated to SW0650 as a minimum.

Just got a 2015 disc, no firmware update (I'm already running SW0220 from a 2014 disc) and it doesn't support 7 digit postcodes :(

Have found a company online that claim their software can add the ability to use 7 digit postcode?
http://www.navpoint.co.uk/index.php
Anyone have any experience with them?

Did you have to do anything to get your 0220 software to install?
I bought a 2015 disc but it won't update - the seller of the disc is saying he has a 7 digit postcode disc available soon...

No, I already had the SW0220 version installed from my 2014 disc.
If memory serves correct, the rns-e automatically updates when a disc with newer soft/firmware is loaded.

I'd be interested if your seller does manage to get a 7 digit postcode working. I can only guess he is using the software (or something similar) from the company I mentioned in my post.

If I'm honest I'm a bit confused with the firmware numbers as I've read the latest is 0220 & 0650??

650 is mk1 rns-e
220 is mk2 rns-e shiny screen surround

Mine is a mk2 but doesnt have the shiny surround, thought the identifier between mk1 and 2 was -

mk1 = cd/tv button
mk2 = media button

Please let us know.

I have also seen the navpoint hack but haven't seen much in the way of user reviews, and it all seems a bit dated when you check their website

I did a 2015 disc and it does then allow you to input the full post code but it still asks for street name. Not sure if thats just because I didn't pay for it or what but don't really want to pay if it doesn't work!

That is correct. There are some mk II units without glossy screen surround.
