So I bought an S4 today with this issue, haggled $500 off the price thinking it would be the transmission control module TCM - $300 part plus a reset and I'm good to go. That's my assumption anyway, I need to check with the ASN gurus...

Symptoms:
Paddle shifts not working
Stick not working to kick up or down gears
PRNDS is lit up in red (not flashing)
Auto box is shifting perfect in D and S mode
Error code P0600 - communication issue

I had thought it was the clockswitch until I realised the stick wasn't moving either.

Any input? Would love some part numbers!

Possibly unrelated but there is also a front parking light alert but I can't seem to find a light that isn't working

Can't help with the gear issue but the parking light only operates when the ignition is switched off and the indicator stalk is left in either left or right position, the same goes for just about every car on the planet. As the side lights are working ok it must be a problem deep within the wiring or indicator stalk. It won't be related to gearbox issue and is not worth spending too much time trying to resolve.

Anyone? Ive heard about it being a magnet under the shifter but would that explain why the paddles are not working too?
