New File released for DTUK FSR Tuning Box

Well just had a good drive home with the new map and have to say she does feel a bit more alive, not the difference I was expecting, I think it's been hyped up a bit but defo seems quicker on the uptake as the power comes in earlier........me likey!!

I wouldn't of thought something like this would need "ran in", but mine seems to be getting quicker and quicker

Super fast service from Andrew and his team once again, I recieved my box this morning and looking forward to hitting the loud pedal on the way home tonight.
On a side note I would just like to say that my car was in for a service yesterday and while I did remove the FSR box I did leave the wiring in and used the supplied blanking plug, my car required them to do a scan on it and I can confirm there was no issues and no TD1 flags.......Result!!!

Did you try and hide the wiring at all? I was thinking about this the other day and thought I really can't be assed removing it all when its time for a service.

Guys with the tuning boxes don't you think the issue with the S3 engine is more the top end like past 4 to 5k up to the red line? when I tried the A45 Amg it was the opposite to the S3 not much low down but rev much stronger at the top end so I'm wanting more power/torque there like the Merc.

I did a good job of fitting the wiring in the first place making sure it looked 'original' the only part that doesn't look right is the end with the blank which is tucked in the battery cover.

With the box on I think it pulls really well at the top end and doesn't want to stop, but not driven the A45 so can't comment on that??

Good good, I done exactly the same.

Has everyone else with a tuning box told there insurance?

If you were to try any make a warranty claim, would audi not be able to check with your insurance company to see if your car was modified in any way?

My wife asked me this today and I have honestly never thought about it.

see there is as good a reason as any to not tell our insurance.. haha

Out of interest, has anyone who has left the wiring on for a service asked if their car has a TD1 flag?

I know it's counter intuitive to want to ask that, but how do you know you don't have a TD1 flag until it's too late??

I had my service on Monday, i left the wiring in the car and hide the pedal box behind the console. No one notice or tell me something or had an observation in the bill, went to my home and put the box again.
Thug life!

I'd say insurance co would only disclose info to the policy holder

Even if they did notice just the wiring not connected to the DTUK box, but rather the blanking plug, it isn't a tune in that config and they couldn't do anything. They'd have to prove it was a tune or modifying parameters.

All my mods are declared to insurance, tuning box, intake, springs, wheels and didn't cost that much extra.

I very much doubt Audi would be able to get that info from insurance companies ?? Nothing to do with them and anyway they don't know who I insure with?

So I put my updated box back on last night and when for a blast. All I can say it's like a different car. The power is instant and very smooth. Didn't know what to expect but I'm massively impressed.
Another point is the excellent service once again from Andrew at DTUK box sent off Tuesday morning and arrived back with me Thursday morning. Can't say anything bad about it at all

Would be interested to know how it behave compared to the MTM box. Anyone ???

Try them both :)
Just ordered my FSR+ yesterday. That should have these most recent file right?

Haven't received the box yet, but curious about this 3+2 vs 3+3. What's the difference? How do you switch between the two?

You just need to open the box and move the jumpers.
It's really easy.

3 +3 seems to be the most used on the old files anyway, I have mine on 3 +3 on the new files but not tried out map 2 yet.

It´s the most agressive and effective map with an agressive tune when you are riding stock.
From a certain test, you can choose 4+3 with an intake I/C and octane booster to have the best improvement.

You going to be at Crail this weekend mate?

I'm going to install the box for coming down and do some runs without the box and some with. Would be interesting to see side by side new and old files and new files versus no box :thumbs up:

A side by side video with and without box would be awesome!

I was thinking about it as there is an event on but I also might be heading through to Coupar Angus for some moto x action .

Not quite sure what I'm doing yet but yea, a side by side wound be good. Will probably be very similar to when I raced my brother in his Golf 7R.

New FSR+ doesn't have jumpers. It has buttons with LED's

Well I'm planning on being there and I'll have the GoPro with me so if you're around we can set up a couple of runs :)

Question for all you people with the new files. What jumper settings are you running?

I just installed my DTUK FSR+ and am loving it so far. It was purchased within the last two weeks. Do I have the most recent of maps or should I arrange for the update? Is there a way to check?

What octane are you using? Are you running 3+3 on your box?

I am running 93 octane (USA). Most of the limited testing my I've done so far has been on 3+3. I don't have many miles on it yet but this seems to have made a big difference in the higher rpm (5000+) and little difference in the midrange.

I still have to try map 1+3 and 2+3.

Thought I would give a little update for the guys running the DTUK boxes as over the weekend i took a trip to MSL Performance in B'ham for a few runs on there Dynojet. I had received my FSR+ back from @ABYSS at DTUK earlier in the week with the latest V3 files so it seemed like an ideal time to see some figures. I do also have the APR carbon intake fitted.
The lads at MSL mentioned they had seen a few cars through there doors with DTUK boxes on and that S3/7R were typically a making between 345-355 at the flywheel. Anyway he did the 3 runs and looked quite shocked that the figures it had produced, 347whp which he worked out to be approx 380bhp at the flywheel and 336 ft-lb (456Nm)Torque. He went on to say how strong the results were and that they hadn't had one in showing those kind of figures yet. As I mentioned I do also have the APR intake fitted so that is going to help a little obviously. So all in all i left quite a happy man and it was worth the trip to B'ham. Also on a side note i couldn't fault MSL, they have got a decent set-up so anybody around the Midlands area who is looking for a Dyno I would recommend them.

I have a downpipe, this box has a "stage 2" to profit from the downpipe?

What kind of figures should it achieve on a 1.8 tfsi?

Regards,

If yours is the 180 ps model they quote 245 ps and 323nm

Also they have a website

Thanks for the reply.

Numbers are not as impressive as in the S3 plattform. I mean, S3 do get similar numbers as a proper remap (375-380 bhp).. it seems like they don't fine tune the 1.8 tfsi maps, they just focus on the S3 market.

Because the 1.8 tfsi engine has lots of potencial; remaps are getting 250-260 bhp with a stage 1.

It would be great to see better figures for 1.8 tfsi with this tuning box..

Regards.
