Hi All,

Wondered what your thoughts were and if anyone has done this??

I have the chance of a B8 S4 standard exhaust system (4pipes) free - I thought about getting this fitted on my 143bhp tdi A4.

It is going to cost me £180 fot S4 rear valance from Audi - which i believe is straight swap for my S-line one currently??

Exhaust itself will need chopped and rejigged for the cat set up as S4 has two and my A4 has one, so i guess a Y pipe will be required. I have a C&C Exhausts close to me, I was going to see them about fitting - What do you think would be a realistic price for doing this?

I am not doing it for any performance gains, just for aesthetics - I think it will look amazing tbh....

Thoughts please??

Thanks

Ive put S4 dual pipe setups on both my previous B7 A4's and loved the look. Now have an actual S4 so still love it lol.
Unsure about fitment of valance on B8s I dont know much about them but I say go for it

I don't have the S4 exhaust but I do have a custom one which is one of my favourite mods it really transforms the look of the rear, the diffuser is a straight swap, you will need a new hanger for the drivers side and a heat shield if you want one.

Sure you already know from the replies but yes the s4 genuine valance is a straight swap on the Sline bumper :)
Make sure you order the silver insert which isnt included though, and also costs more than the valance! sounds from your price this isnt including the insert.

Did mine 2 weeks ago. If you are going to do it yourself wouldnt recomend pulling it off in situ though, take the rear bumper off which is a piece of cake, then have fun trying to pry the clips off (They are an A**!)
To put the new valance on the clips just didnt want to click in on mine, took my weight and my bf guiding the clips and about 20 minutes to force it together against the floor. But so worth it.
The guide below was what I used, then for the sensors just unplug each sensor under the bumper when it is off before pulling it away ..

Hope this helps and isnt just babble :)

I did mine in 5 mins Manda by simply breaking every clip and cutting the old diffuser either side hahaha :keule:zero patience for fiddly things like that but to my cost :/

In love, back box delete was by far best decision on the 170 diesel, not too drony or loud as i still have cat and centre silencer. But rude through a tunnel under boost

One of my favourite mods was the exhaust simple yet affective isn't it, glad your liking it but not surprised it looks brilliant and done by one of the best too.

Well its on! I must say I am rather happy with how it is looking, only for aesthetics, and not performance remember! I think it sets my car off :D

Chris I really like that, what exhaust did you end up fitting and where if you dont mind me asking?? I like the fact that the pipes look stock and dont stick out to much

They are stock pipes mate - standard S4, so no boy racer barrrrrrr LOL i am too old for that these days!
I got C+C to fit them in Hillington, Glasgow, he charged me £140 for fitting.

O roger that makes sence! My wife will kill me if I made our lovely avant sounds like a death machine!!

Did you get the exhaust new or secondhand? I'll go trawl flea bay and see if there are sets about.

Thanks

I got them off my mate who upgraded his S4 to a milltek, so second hand but decent nick

woohoo.. Looks beautiful.
I like the boot lip, not ott and complements it.

How you finding it with the S4 Petrol backbox? Petrols are normally allot more heavily silenced than the diesel ones from experience unless the S4 one is different.
I deleted my backbox without a huge difference. but if it was a petrol would have bleeding ears no doubt

Manda, does your motor still pass MOT like this?

Yeah is fine, but I know my MOT tester so I dont have any problems with my mods, they are all above board in any case :) (coughs* stretch... what tyre stretch?)
Isnt a requirement for a back box as far as I am aware as it is only for silencing and the noise levels on a diesel aren't hugely increased, you wont notice anything on idle accept maybe a deeper tone, and on boost if you still have cat, dpf and egr barely louder.
