What have you done to your A4 b6 today?

Removed regreased and refitted front wiper motor, fixed dodgy indicator bulb fitted error cancellers to led headlights and threw a bucket of soapy water over her.

Service at the weekend

Cam belt, water pump, tensioners etc. also bought some nice new mats and troubleshooting my little braking issue

I've seriously lost the love for my Avant over the winter. It's developed a chirping sound when running in cold weather, I think it may be the alternator pulley slipping?

It's looking a real mess at the moment, but I've started in earnest again. Decided the tatty alloys need a refurb, I've taken the dirtiest into work, air tool sanded the kerbage and blasted it back to bare alloy. 2 coats of grey undercoat so far, I've ordered some silver and lacquer aswell. I'm happy with the results so far.

Mine was starting to feel a little un-loved as well so i gave it a coat of Meguirs Tech Wax this evening. I think its the first time since November last year i've waxed it.

I'd like to give mine a DA polishing but none of my mates own one and I'm not sure I'd use it often enough to spend out on a good one. Can you hire them at all?

Just the lacquer to go on now. Much better :)

Don't think you can hire them. I got one and waiting for the weather to warm up so can give mine a polish over! The wheel looks good btw:thumbs up:

Acquired some S4 brakes, so the brand new 312mm set up in my garage will be for sale when I get around to taking some pictures.

Well I started the list of jobs on mine:-
Thermostat too start
Now I know I have oil in water due to the oil cooler (allegedly)
Alright there is no other thing to point towards it.

I drained the coolant too find half a bucket oil
(Pictures tomorrow)
The stat was ****** also

In a few days il re drain it and flush it through again, although with the oil cooler change
I know I should of done the cooler first to stop more oil going in the water, but I wanted to see how much oil was getting through.

The heats up brilliantly now, best in 3 years of ownership.

Next jobs are:
Abs sensor
Oil cooler, and filter
Wash

No today but in the last week:

Fitted new speed lines, which were rubbing on my arches for the 5 mile drive home so much that they bubbled the paint on the rear arches and shredded the outer wall of the tyre. Now to roll the arches so I can drop the rear of the car again...

Thermo sensor needs changing due to temp gauge being all over the place

Fixing the n80 valve which has caused the eml to come on...

Abs sensor needs replacing

A long list of stuff that needs sorting:(

Was this hard to do Jimmy mate?
I'd love one, my smic needs a clean as I noticed excess oil around it so hope it's okay

Went to get the rear tyres on my Avant replaced today, while I was there popped into the MOT place opposite, to ask about the crack in the n/s of my screen. I thought this would be a MOT fail, but the guy said if it does not interfere with your vision, then it will be ok. So as they weren't busy, asked them to MOT the car (due 9th March) failed on one item n/s/f upper front suspension arm. Some of the other arms were replaced on the last MOT before I owned the car, so looking at the pinch bolt it was out last year, so hoping it will come out ok. Told if I get it done within 10 days they won't charge me for a re-test.

Not to bad to do really but the bumper does require a lot of fitting, removing, trimming, fitting, removing, trimming and so on. You get the idea. This is the fmic fitted

Fitted the new arm this afternoon, everything came apart easily, back to MOT place & now I have a brand new MOT certificate...............that's another year in the bag!

Really boring update post compared to others but I'm chuffed I've just finished the 3rd wheel. Shall be tidying up the calipers after I've done all 5. I've got a mate coming over to DA the body aswell, hope it gives it back some shine.

Test fitted splitter, side skirts and started to fabricate my boost and oil temp gauges into the a pillar.

Just got to get the skirts painted to match the stainless silver trim bits and modify the front splitter a bit to fit the bumper better then paint.

What et are your wheels please also where did you get skirts and front spoiler from

Left it at the garage for what I thought would be just an abs sensor:( fried ecu that needs repairing...

On the plus side I rolled the arches on the rear and lowered the car on my new speedlines and it looks amazing!

Just replaced the oil cooler, and flushed the coolant system
Simple enough just really messy :(
Now got oil on the Tarmac outside :(

Car runs mint now

Also cleaned the engine bay down to help check for leaks

Well i went out this morning , cup of tea in hand with the intention of...........
1. remove cambelt and water pump and refit new,
2. Remove sump and clean , clean out oil pump pick up incase any gunk in there (decided to do it as a precaution as all the front is off and its easy to get to).
3.Remove rocker cover and inspect timing chain and adjuster/guide.
4.Degrease engine so it looks new
5 Service the whole engine
6.Refit everything.

So i lit a fag then my other half reminded me i have a hospital appointment, so went to hospital then some shopping.
So i will be mostly doing it all tomorrow.

Pics of the speedlines

Over the last couple of weeks I've been topping up the brake fluid. The beeping and flashing brake symbol can easily bring on road rage! Anyway fixed now it was the copper washers weeping on the n/s rear calliper.

Picked new wheels up last night got tires fitted and balanced all ready to go on Sunday as long as it don't rain quick pic of wheels
