Dull Carpets - solutions

My 56 carpets are looking a bit dull compared to the new black Matt's I've just fitted. I don't want to replace them so was just wondering if anyone has ever tried to dye them? I was thinking a black clothing dye might actually work, any thoughts or recommendations?

Power wash them after scrubbing in somthibg like auto smart g101 to move the dirt

I wasnt going to remove the carpets but thanks. I've found black dye I'm going to try with carpets in situ, seems to be possible as ive watched cple of vids today on youtube of it being done.
