Hi all,
I've been looking around here for a couple of weeks now reading some posts and I thought it was time to introduce myself and start a own topic.
As the topic title suggests I'm from the Netherlands. Have owned several VAG cars in the past, currently driving an 2003 S3 8L. The car is remapped and has about 260HP.

Mods done:
Wheels
Filter
Blacked out grill

Planned mods:
Cupra Splitter
2.5" Exhaust + 3" DP
Forge TIP
Remap

I bought it in the beginning of 2014 in this state:

After some mods this is how it looks now:

Looks quite nice, I bought my s3 in Holland this year :) It looks about the same, only i have 18" porsche turbo rims.

Thank you guys!

Today I checked my allignment. then I saw a problem..
The left rear wheel has more camber then the other rear wheel. I checked the tie arms and al the bushed but everything seems to be ok. Someone any idea whats causing the different camber?

I have a problem like this with my s3, but driver rear side, ended up being the hub bent, this was noticed when I tried to get tracking done thinking it was that. now having both rear hubs replaced,

passanger side rear wheel

driver side rear wheel

Checked the rear springs? they have a habit of breaking at the very ends (little pig tail bit) and this would cause the car to sit differently this way

<tuffty/>

Does this solve the problem?

There is indeed a height difference between left en right of the car. But I jacked the car up, so its leveld. But the camber differnence stays the same, so its not a spring, I also checked the springs.

Here a picture with the different camber

Bit of a strange one this one. I have exactly the same problem after my lower KW arms failed. I've since replaced them with Forge jobbies but the camber is out (exactly like this picture)

Does a new hub fix the issue?

P.S Sorry for hijacking ththread Lennard but I'm worried :/

Thanks,
Joe

Today I measured the Tte arms etc, but I can't find any strange things..
The only thing left is the hub, so maybe this hub is the problem. I hope @s3james can confirm this.

Im still waiting to get my car back from the garage, which i hope is this week, as i want to start with my build... once i have heard and picked the car up i will reply right away with what will either be good news or bad. so fingers crossed

Ok, I'm curious about the outcome.

Today my car passed the MOT, so that's the good news :)

nothing yet.... its been away for coming up to 2 months now, just for a new turbo and both rear hubs. I should hopefully get it back next week/weekend @LennardS3

Mine's been back for tracking and everything is now fixed... Apart from the angle above. Drivers side rear is still way out!!!

Worried - Still!!!

really strange, I still don't know what the cause is..

It's either bushes, failed spring? damper? upper control arm (standard - on my car) / wont be the lower one's as there forge aftermarket one's?

Anybody else help on this? Here's a piccy...

Well, they have said they have fixed the hub last week... just the traction control light to sort out now as its stuck on.. should hopefully be fixed this week, and should pick it up on Saturday @LennardS3

Ok thats good! Do you know what they fixed or will it be explained to you when you get your car back?

yeah, I will ask them about it all when it comes to me collecting the car... will be the 3rd/4th time its gone to be fixed now... just fingers crossed I guess that this will be the last time for it to go back. @LennardS3

hm ok. I'll wait for your reply

Heading towards the hub being the key issue.

It is a whole assembly piece of can you just buy "The hub" itself. Of course theres a couple of bushes to go with them/ around that whole area but would like this sorting ASAP.

  • Could anybody help with part numbers if I get pictures sometime soon?

Thank you.
Joe

This is the partnumber of the trailing arm: 1J0505223M

There are a few other parts needed as bushings.

Would it be either one of the control arm bushes failing no 4? - or perhaps bush no 5 on the diagram? Would it be worth replacing to eliminate?

Part numbers? Theres loads... Been looking for ages :(

Really clean car keep up the work
