Considering B7 RS4

Hi all

I'm getting a little fed up with my current car, an insignia VXR and have been considering swapping for a low milage 57 plate Audi B7 RS4.

I've seen all the info on DRC and carbon issues but is there anything else to look out for?

My obvious concerns are that I'm swapping a 2 year old car for a 7 year old car and loosing warranty etc.

Always loved the RS4 and always wanted to own one though. I have experience of Audi ownership as my previous car was an Audi s3 (8P)

Had a look on rs246 great guide and lots of post from other members. I am currently looking at 2 rs4's but can't decide which is best. Blue 2006 with 41k on the clock and milltek, big dealer with warranty, or silver 57 plate with 35k and black optics from small family run garage, no warranty as far as I know. Both within £500 of each other.
 
The Rs4 is beautiful car, love the wheel arches. Could you post up the links to both ?
 
They are both very nice, however i would have the Blue one because i think it looks a lot nicer.

But i think this one looks out of this world: Used - Audi - RS4 SALOON (RS 4 Quattro 4dr) - Derby Audi

Could you not pay a little bit extra and get that one ? 1 year audi warranty and it will all be checked over and it will be guaranteed its not a dodgey car ?
 
Yeah the blue one is tempting as full warranty and known dealer, also cheaper tax bit it is older.

I have been to see the one at derby Audi as it's 10 minutes from my house, very nice but couldn't live with colour.
 
Cheaper tax is a big benefit, i love that yellow one. My son has a bright green Volkswagen Scirocco 2.0TSI with black 19" looks beautiful.
 
I like the yellow one, but think I would change my mind after a few week, also harder to sell later on.

Have never understood why people put so much emphasis on the tax of the car. Yes its a ball ache, paying for tax full stop, but the high tax brackets is normally for the high performance cars which inherently have higher running/maintenance costs as well as appalling MPG, all of which we seem to be able to live with, but mention its around an extra £5 a week to tax it, hell breaks loose! :D

It's mainly because the difference is entirely arbitrary. You can save £250 a year just by getting an earlier registered car (though facelift is better, and all higher tax bracket). Big picture though it's not a huge cost in comparison to fuel, or tyres, or brakes, or insurance etc
