BW 41, 42, 43, 44

Nice, makes me really miss mine. All I had was one afternoon with it.
Darn two week holiday in the Caribbean getting in the way!
Talk about first world problems ;)

6 hours til I pick her up. Is time slowing down? Im fairly sure my clock is going backward :(

Its arrived:

After the wait always a slight anti-climax to pick it up. Partly as its a shame to see the old A4 go and everything does seem 3/4 sized compared to what I'm used to (e.g. an extra foot of space in the garage!).

Embarrassingly with all the options I'd ticked I'd forgotten that I'd specified the progressive steering and that is excellent and noticeable (in a good way) and the sunroof blind was closed so I'd forgotten that as well. Speed limits are being picked up by the camera perfectly as well and shown in the DIS so that's worked out fine. Slight depression mark in the passenger leather seat which I hope will come out by itself.

Looking forward to my first decent trip out on Thursday when I can have a play with the ACC etc. Engine unsurprisingly feels very tight and having come from the 3.0TDI in the A4 I'll have to learn to be a bit more patient.

Stop/start was bit of a pain as it was cutting in at roundabouts too quickly. I'm used to being able to control this with the clutch in our manual A1 (and A4 didn't have it), but this being an auto I'm not sure what I can do to stop it cutting in quite so quickly (other than switching it off).

Stop/start is controllable with the brake pedal. As you come to a stop lessen brake pedal pressure to a point where you are just holding the car stopped, that should prevent s/s activating.

Thanks for the tip, hopefully I can master it.

Are those LED Headlights?

Are those LED Headlights?

Yes they are. If I'd been more awake I would have switched them on before taking the picture. I'm intrigued by what they will do for indicators and fog lights.

Picked her up earlier. What a machine. Drove round with a massive smile on my face :D

Will have to take some pics at the weekend. Also got a lovely bottle of champagne to enjoy :)

Hoping to receive some news any day.. It's been so long I've kinda hit the 'it will land when it lands' thought process. But seeing you guys getting your good news Has got me kinda twitchy again!

Be proactive and get onto your dealer I'd suggest.

Yeah to be honest the novelty has worn off a little this past month but I'll be giving them a nudge this week!

My A3 SB was build week 43 and it was built in the latter half of that week
it arrived at Sheerness over the weekend and its booked for handover this Saturday ( just about build week +3)
I think it depends what port your car is landed at, how far it has to be trucked to get to your dealer
and how busy that dealer is.
(It also looks like a saloon gets an extra delay as some of the others here seem to have experienced )

keep the faith, it will turn up and then the waiting will just seem like a distant memory

Not sure if my nagging Audi CS and the dealer had any effect but my BW 43 car arrived at Emden on 28/10, was still there on 31/10 and at my dealer on or before 5/11 (they forgot to tell me) and I picked it up today 11/11. I had initially been given a vague handover date around last week of November. So effectively 2 weeks early.

I only asked my dealer for one update and basically that was because my misses had taken an update from him weeks earlier and she had forgotten what B/W he'd said. It just so happened it was right in the middle of my actual build week
His update was "You car is due to be built later on this week!! We are expecting to arrange handover for the 4th week in November. Once your car arrives at UK port we can arrange a definite handover date"
oddly enough the same week as you were given
I think they just forecast long until they get the car in the UK, where they seem to have some control over its progress.

Well I picked it up last night, it was a nice quick, efficient handover.
Here's a sneaky pic which is all I've got ATM is its been raining non stop. I'll get some better pics once the sun decides to pop out.

I was given BW41. It came into the UK earlier than expected but then sat at the port for weeks. I can't complain though as I was given an early December delivery date when I placed the order in June so it's still about a month earlier than initially expected.

So 5 weeks from BW to delivery, round about what they say...still a month early overall from initial date would do me nicely as that would be early/mid February.

So my baby is finally here! It arrived at 11am this morning with seven miles on the clock, half a tank of fuel and an Audi Adapterset cable (sadly not the one which I need for my iPod Classic to work via AMI).

And here are some crappy shots taken in Sainsburys car park tonight (as far away from other cars as possible!).

Cheers! The daytime shot on the trailer makes it look like its on stilts but it sits much nicer on the Tarmac. I opted for the deselection of sports suspension having read all of the reviews, despite worrying about the ride height, and I think it was the right decision on the basis of the few miles I've done so far.

great to see you finally get the car
enjoy your motoring

I believe so, I'm not sure what else it could be. I couldn't get too close to it and blowing the picture up distorts the wording.
It is a 1.4 150 PS COD which, from what I have read on other posts on the forum, are now being called Ultra.
It will be one up on the misses as her A1 is a 140 PS COD Ha Ha

I didn't ask for mine to be debadged but it has been. I don't object as I quite like people not knowing what I've got under the bonnet but I was a little surprised.

Just completed a 100 mile round trip. Car is awesome, Love the s-tronic gearbox and the interior lighting package makes the cabin feel really special at night. Cranked up the B & O too, ****** brilliant.

Going to leave it in efficiency mode and fully auto until I've done 1,000 miles. I don't care what others say about nailing it from day one, I respect the engine too much to do it.

Great to hear you are enjoying it Andrew. Like you I am a bit old school treating new engines with a little care
I did try blowing up your pictures to check your badge, but as you say there is no badge
I agree the colour seems to suit the saloon. Keep enjoying that car

I waited until stretching my right foot. Waited until the car was up to temperature :D. Then it was exhuast burp central.

Good on you for having the self control. And it looks lovely. As does the black SB. Wait has definatley been worth it!

Same as you Andrew,I didn't ask for it debadged but it arrived without any at the back! Quite like the 'clean' look it givesbut didn't to start with. I too deleted the sports suspension but maybe they decided to delete the badges as well!!

I was very tempted to nudge the s-tronic to the left and nail it but she doesn't deserve that treatment :kissmyrings:

Not just yet, anyway. However, in a month or so...:racer:

Should've mentioned the suspension too. It still feels firm to me (perhaps not surprising after coming from a Volvo :haha:) and doesn't wallow through the bends at all. Definitely happy with my choice. S-line suspension must be as hard as nails!

Different running in philosophy, but we'll not argue about that here. Glad youre enjoying it. Ive managed an impressive 23 mpg ;)

Wish i could find my old hard disk ipod though.
