Hopefully I can't get to the bottom of this basically the car has had a cluster swap the cluster that's fitted is from a 2003 Audi TT it's fitted and working but ive got a few problems

Ive got oil sensor on the fis the car doesn't have one and there's no service interval adjustments or coding for level sensor options I tried earthing out pin 15 on the green plug and it just changes from short to live to short to ground add resistor maybe ?

And vag tacco 1.4 and can commander won't edit the milage encrypted on the tt ? and the new cluster reads a lot less than my car so I want it correct

It also had brake warning but ive earthed pin 2 on the blue plug and that's gone now

No coding or resistor can fix. I'd put a new sump and sensor in to fix. The marreli dashes don't recode on clones they need the eeprom removing and hex edited

Ouch it looks like I'm going to have to put up with it then at least the clocks and gauges are working now thanks for the info :)

You have fitted the wrong cluster/dash pod. It has to be the same year as your old one.

Hi Ive still got the cluster that was removed I didn't do the swap I bought the car like this im just trying to figure out the problem which has been explained above I have another cluster what was removed don't think it's original as its dated 2001 and the cars a 99

This is what's fitted at the moment

8N2 920 930 C - 2003 cluster

But Ive got this with a broken fis display also

8N2 919 930 B - 2001 cluster

Why can't the tt be as easy as a mk4 to change clusters and edit the EPROM lol

Im haveing exact same problem as you is is nornal for our 1999 225 tt not to have oil leval sensor and break wear sensors And if so how do you know if oil leval is low

:audibash: Yeah they are a pain in the behind lol
I've got the same 920 930 c cluster at home and tried to fit that into my 2000 model but the fuel reading show reverse polarity meaning don't bother lol so I've stuck with the old cluster and just been replacing bits and keeping it going haha

As I said you'll need the correct year cluster else you'll have the faults showing and I know how it feels as I have a brake bulb warning on the dash from when I bought it 4 years ago and when I put this 2003 pod in the faulty goes but cannot use this 2003 pod as it's showing the wrong fuel as audi changed the fuel sender units at some point so the reading works backwards lol.

That's strange because my fuel gauge does actually seem to work I think it over reads slight but can't make my mind up but it does go the right way at least I can live with it really I only bought the car as a go between car after I sold my 3.2 a3 the seller told me about the faults just the ocd in me wants it gone haha

So is it normal not to have that oil sensor in the sump

I've had 4 used pods as spares when audi wanted £900 for a new one programmed when my rev counter failed so i went about repairing my own one lol and went and bought these to replace the fuel gauge. Rev counter. Speedo gauge or temp gauge when they went faulty. ;-)

You have the old design and it may come with an internal level sensor but not too sure about that sorry as ive not had that issue before.

I've already had bb reman take mine in and made it worse by not correctly putting the dial needles back correctly as they probably don't know what they are doing.
There are other companies but I can't afford to lose my car for yet another while week

Fill your oil to the correct level and Check your oil with the dip stick every 900 miles as I know my TT 225 2000 reg uses 600-800ml of oil every 1000 miles or less although each car differs I'd be careful and check at least once a week lol
