TDI or T FSI?

What year and mileage on the above cars.

But regardless of that I would have the V6 TDI engine.

Assume the years and mileage are the same. I'll most likely get one no older than 4 years, so 2010 as the oldest.

My return question would be what purpose do you intend to use the vehicle for. As well as what sort of mileage will you be doing.

Using for city comings and goings as well as the odd journeys to other cities every couple of weeks.
Yearly mileage would vary but I'd say under 10k

You have posted the question in the wrong section, a 2010 A4 will get you a B8 model.

And it would still be the 3.0 TDI

It's a V6!
More torque
Nice quite refined engine
Known oil consummation issues on the 2.0 TFSI (requires engine rebuild)
Quicker than the 2.0 TDI
Automatic gearbox is better in the 3.0TDI

Thanks for the response man. My bad with the forum posting.

I'd be getting a manual so the last point wouldn't apply but it's good to know about the issues on the FSI. I had someone else tell me that his engine blew up recently, too.

So apart from the obvious performance benefits of the 3.0, it's literally just the same car but a beefier model?

Cheers.

Yes, there will be different shocks/springs depending on the engine and the gearbox will be different, other there that it's the same car.

2.0T for low mileage around town use, there's a few horror stories around but (I'm no expert although far as I know) they can be ironed out by changing a couple bits and bobs.

Having had a A4 TFSI a 170tdi and now an A6 3.0tdi, the 3.0tdi is by far the best for me!

How was both cars in terms of fuel? Did you notice a massive difference when upgrading to the 3.0 in terms of forking out for fuel or was it not that bad?

Yes few horror stories like using a 2.0t to drive around town for low mileage
Then burning a hole in your wallet?,lol

Did say I'm no expert :tocktock: common knowledge that petrol is best for around town low mileage and diesel for long distance commutes, but feel free to debate this as I could do with a laugh.

I only have a 4 mile commute so not good for diesel, all have been quattros so again not great for mpg but from memory below is what I got

Work Run cruise set around 80
1.8T. 22-24mpg. 35mpg
TFSI. 23-25mpg. 35mpg
170. 31-33mpg. 44mpg
TDI V6 26-31mpg. 43mpg
