Some of you may have seen my classified putting my A3 up for sale, but I've agreed today to p/x it against a BMW 320d Touring M Sport.

Gutted to be getting rid of the A3, but I need an auto and with a young family an estate is the sensible choice.

I've been really pleased with the A3, but very excited about my new one. For those of you that are interested I've ordered the following:

BMW 320d Touring M Sport
Auto gearbox
Mineral grey metallic
19" wheels
Bi-xenon lights
M Sport braking system
Harmon Kardon sound system
Privacy glass
Heated seats
Front and rear parking control

Managed to get 17% off as my mate works for BMW. Best of all it's built, in the showroom and I'm picking up next week. I was also pleasantly surprised to see it wearing Goodyear Eagle F1 ASY2's instead of the usual Bridgestones!

Thanks for all your advice on here, I'll drop in from time to time.

^ Looks very nice indeedy :cool::cool:

Good luck & we may see you in an Audi again sometime ;)

17% Christ I've heard of 27% off these I looked at a 335d and they were knocking 8.5k off them

I think 27% is a little unrealistic. I'd love to know where you can get that deal.

Best of luck, one thing I can never believe on these new BMWs is that they still have the old fashioned push down locks on the inner doors, I know it's only a small thing, but I was amazed to see these when I last went round a showroom - don't think I'd seen them on a car for years!

Best of luck, car looks very nice if a bit "senior".:moa:
Watch that back end during the winter months. Let us know how it compares to the A3.

Good luck! We've got tons of bmw's at work (hire car company) and they are great. Yes the interior is a little 'traditional' but a great driving car nonetheless. I love the Eco-pro feature where you can see how many miles you've saved and hold the traction off button down for 10 seconds and you're in for a whale of a time.

Good luck with the rep mobile ;)
I think the touring is the best proportioned of the 3 series.

Did you ever consider the new c-class estate? I followed one yesterday and thought it look lovely.

Not sure why you didn't go for an A4 Avant. Better looking car by far.

BMW have a messed up front end and grill.

Just can't abide BMWs. They are a nightmare to drive in any kind of wintry conditions.

haha I can see him running back to an Audi in a couple of months

Almost identical spec to the 3 Series Touring I nearly bought instead of my S line 184 quattro SB, except I was going for the X Drive with 18"s... Great car, great to drive and yes, amazing discounts. You will enjoy...

Yes it is a little strange, but they must think its one

That was my wife's comment ha ha. Yes it is a little old fashioned but the m sport kit and the 19's help give it a bit more street cred IMO.

Yes will let you know how it compares.

Yes really like the new c class and in premium plus spec it's fully loaded. Unfortunately though I need a car pretty quickly, so the merc didn't fit the bill. The saloon version looks ****** awful though.

I agree the A4 is probably the better looking car, but it's crap to drive, being replaced next year and Audi couldn't sort me a good deal.

I would've gone for the A6 black edition if my budget could've stretched.

Nice practical car, would be great for the mountain bikes.
If I was looking at a BMW I'd spec X-drive, winter lasts a bit longer up here though.

135i is easily available with 20% off, they're massively over priced.

I've driven low and high power BMW's, have to say for a RWD car you feel planted to the road all the time. The leathers are also fantastic and softer than Audi leather.

For that reason I cannot chase you out of the forum with a pitch fork!

Enjoy :)

I drove the saloon version the other day and it's a great drive, like you say very planted.

The 8 speed auto is a work of art, the shifts are barely noticeable.

Lovely looking car and great colour. I test drove one before I ordered my A3 but have to say the noisy diesel engine was a surprise and a disappointment - nowhere near as smooth as the Audi diesels. Now the 330d is another matter ...

Where did you find 20% of a 135i? I looked long and hard at one of those before ordering an S3 and couldn't find discounts at anything like that kind of level. Not sure I would have gone down that road regardless, I reckon they're spectacularly ugly. All about personal taste I suppose...

I wouldn't be tempted by a 135i personally, they look like every other 116d m sport especially in estoril blue except from the twin exhaust and silver wing mirrors.
