RS5 Ordered

After originally placing an order on a new RS6, I've reevaluated (due to high monthly combined with higher running costs and overall size of the car) and cancelled the order and placed an order for a RS5 instead.


Going for Sepang blue with sports pack, V alloys, black pack, bucket Seats, tints, folding mirrors, B&O.


Had a S5 previously which I loved the look of and cabin, but didn't appreciate how it drove. I swapped for a 5 door as we were due a baby, but now that she's here we don't actually need two five doors (wife has a Q5).
On reflection, after having a new S3, the S5 drove pretty well actually, certainly much better than I gave it credit for, so here's hoping the RS5 moves that on to a new level.


Just waiting to find out lead time.

Sepang RS5 hell yes! Look awesome with V alloys. Cant wait to see this bad boy :) I personally prefer RS 6 but you clearly have your head screwed on here :D
 
RS5 is a beautiful machine, great choice, nice spec, look forward to the pictures.
How long a wait are they forecasting?
 
Interesting choice after the S3.

Question for you, I'm assuming you'll leave it standard. I looked at both S/RS and in the end felt that the V6T had more tuning scope without putting in dollops of £10k investments (for superchargers). The RS5 sounds glorious, and it's quick, but there isn't much you can do with the V8 to help it along if it starts to feel normal. I prefer the RS5 as a car, and I prefer the sound of the V8, but the V6T is a hell of an engine in terms of scope (and I think the facelift models drive better than the pre-facelift especially when they have the full ADS pack.

Good colour choice.
 
RS5's are very nice! it'll look good in Sepang blue! a friend of mine has one in red which he had supercharged, it was fast before it but afterwards it was stupidly fast and you just ended up giggling like a small child riding in it!
 
Date given is early November, although that's to be confirmed when I go in to sort the paperwork on Thursday.

I won't be modding, not been too heavily into that in my car ownership history. Prefer to stick to standard.
Had the V6T S5 already, and regretted selling so wanted to go RS5 this time.
Is the premium worth it over the S5, probably not, but I like the upgraded package (look, engine, seating position, handling) of the RS5 and am looking forward to it.

I agree that if modding is what you want to do, the RS5 ain't the car to do it in.

What is the ADS pack?

You have been through an interesting process of car ownership the last year or so though.

Interesting that the love affair with the S3 was perhaps more short lived than it was the S5 ... and that the S5 on reflection was perhaps a better package for you than you first gave it credit for.

We all live and learn though, its just one of those things isn't it.

I can appreciate where you are coming from on the RS5 though.

I appreciate it is not that much quicker than the S5, but it has a glorious V8 and will go that bit quicker and make some serious noise getting there ... plus its an 'RS'

The 20" v spokes, sepang, styling tweaks etc will all differentiate it from the S5 ... a very very nice car.

So welcome back to the Audi 5 section and look forward to the countdown :icon_thumright:
 
As Snake says I do like the V-spokes. As you say regarding the 4/5 doors you don't need it if the wife has the Q5. We found out the wife was pregnant not long after ordering the S5 and I did ask if I need to change the order to something else luckily she said no! :racer:

As it seems you've found if it's the family then it's her car if it's just me (or me and the little'un) then it's fine with the two doors. Besides, wife refuses to drive mine as I think she's part scared of it, part scared of my reaction if she were to kerb an alloy... :whistle2:

Youll love the RS5 - took delivery of mine in March Daytona Grey with silver leather interior looks awesome and goes really well. quick enough not to need modding IMHO
 
audi upgrades
Swithering over black pack or aluminium pack.

Thinking with the brightness of the Sepang and the V alloys and aluminium mirrors, that aluminium might be the better choice.......

Doing a bit of research, I think my ideal combination is aluminium pack, black grill, aluminium surround........which Audi don't do.
Might have to carry out a subtle mod.....

Some of the RS3 owners have done it and it looks spot on.:thumbsup:

mid November is when I got mine.

you decided on colour yet ?
 
That's when I got the S3 last year.
Sepang with aluminium pack.
 
Thinking of goin down this route too, went in yesterday to see about ordering an RS6 but was told production on them is on hold due to demand for the ultra editions, anyone know if this is true? Anyway got interested in an RS5 and fancy a Sepang with rotors etc so this might be the route i go down too OP.

I had a RS6 on order and the delivery time for that (before I switched) was quicker than the order for the RS5.
No mention of any delays prior to me switching to the RS5.

Been seeing a lot of Sepang recently and the more I see it the more I question if it's a colour I could live with.

So changed my order to Suzuka grey with black pack and added the sunroof.
Rest remains the same.
Order fixed now, so that's me done with my meddling.
