After having an S3 8L for nearly 2 years I decided it was time for an upgrade, so brought myself a red 2007 S3 8P :yahoo:

So far so good, the car is completely standard.. 8L was running Stage 2 modifications, so the 8L felt quicker and more aggressive - anyone else found this when they moved?

Looking forward to reading some of the forums for How To, What to replace, What mods to fit etc etc..

Pics of said car after a 2 day detail (arm still doesn't work properly..) anyone recognise the car from here??

Very very nice. Got any plans lined up? I'd imagine, given your previous Audi history you've got a few ideas. :D

Welcome to the club!!!!!!!! Just don't look at S3Alex Thread it will be a wallet breaker he has started me on a slippery slope LOL!!

Looks lovely mate!

Oh FBMFSW I would love one, my mother (makes me sound so young haha) has one in her TT maybe I could convince her to swap lol. If she ever puts it up for sale I am totally taking it out before she sells it haha and probably her Bluetooth unit too

Thanks for all the responses guys!
Only plan as of yet is to fit the RNS-E.. just need to find one first. :blow: I'm literally brand new to the 8P forum, never ventured in here before - so I'm interested to see what guys/girls have done with their S3s, what gives the best gains etc etc.

If there's one thing you can rely on, Audi-Sport.net will find a way of indirectly emptying your wallet :yahoo: I will make sure to accidentally read that thread ;-)

FBMFSW was another reason why I went for this car.. can't you just take her keys in the night and swap them.. she'll never know :yahoo:

You know I think she might not notice if I swapped for my shield shaped MFSW LOL

Yum! Looks tidy!

Stage2+ / 360bhp+ is the sweet spot for price/performance judging by what people are running. Easy peasy, clutch, TBE, HPFP and remap. IC is pretty optional. The things that cause headaches are usually the PCV failing, diverter valve failing, pickup-pipe blockage and a few other bits n bobs.

Enjoy! Welcome to the wonderful 8P world

Nice pics mate, car looks clean.

A set of MY09/MY11 rear lights would freshen up the back nicely. Oh and if you're after an RNSE, fire me a PM, I'll have mine for sale in the next week or so when I remove it from my car. It's the MK2 glossy surround version

Just say the heat melted it into a different shape, if she's anything like my mum she'll believe it haha.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, very much appreciated!

I've fired a PM over regarding the RNSE :yahoo:

Thanks for the Stage 2+ mod list, clutch looks like one of the priciest items on the list.. interested to read if anyone has any experience with Shark Performance remaps, as they are literally on my door step.

Lovely mate looks a real clean and unmolested example and you really don't see many in red which is refreshing.

Love the alcantara option, it's often seen as a downgrade from full leather when in actual fact I reckon it's the thinking mans check box in that big list of options, cool in summer, warm in winter and ya don't slide around on them, I've had full leather in so many cars but I'm totally converted now.

Lovely car, look forward to seeing more of it.

Enjoy! :)

Nice motor, yeah nice to see the alcantara option, didn't think it was an option and probably won't get dirt stuck inbetween the 'grids' on the leather option!

Wish there was a FBMFSW on mine...

Love to see another red one ( I have one) and better prep the credit card either that or leave the forum 😂 get a stage 1 map on it should make it feel a lot better mines did when I got it done

Nice looking S3. Don't see many in red. Agree with your comment regarding ASN emptying your wallet. Ha.

No need for a dictionary. I went to 1st school.

Haven't you got anything better to do like marking some primary school kids English exams?

Anyway, nice example you have there, looks to me like it's been slightly modified because as far as I'm aware there wasn't a black grille option from the factory?

If id rote ma pst lyk dis all da way thru i wuld undastnd da comment.

But yeah, I apologise for my spelling mistake.

Apparently there was, called the black optics pack or black styling back  - that's what I've read on here anyway, because I thought the same as you. If it is a spray job it's a really good one, as there are no signs at all of it being sprayed.

Nice car. To answer the question in your original post...

"8L was running Stage 2 modifications, so the 8L felt quicker and more aggressive - anyone else found this when they moved?"

Yes, I had exactly the same feeling but also think that the 8P is more refined and as a result deceptively "fast". Despite me saying this I went for a Revo trial within a week of getting it. When the trial ran out it was a no-brainer... I HAD to go to Stage 1 :)

That's exactly what I said, it is obviously quicker... Just the 8L was I put my foot to the floor was 'nothing... Nothing.... The head back in seat' whereas the 8P as you say is more refined and is straight on the power.

Did you have to have the clutch done after stage 1?

I have DSG so no clutch required, but if I was you I'd budget for one as it can't really handle stage 1. Some wait for it to start slipping, others get it done straight away... up to you really. Whatever you decide you'll enjoy Stage 1 in that nice looking 8p of yours.
