ECON allways on

Slight problem with my air conditioning, the light on the ECON button is allways on even if you press it it stays on.

is this because theres no gas in the system? Just thought i'd ask before I go pay to get it re-gassed

I think your right mate. Do a search on here, I'm sure I read it in a post a couple of weeks ago, I'm sure it was in a post about getting the oil pick up pipe changed.

Common problem on the B6 mate, your Aircon needs regassing first, then it could be condessor, etc etc etc, check the B6 section out, we have had many discussin over this lol

This happened to me in & my case it was just a re gas to fix it but there are other things which can cause the Econ to stay on as stated in the other posts.
I'd try a re gas first.

I have had this symptom on two occasions.
Once when the compressor seized and I needed a new one,
Second time when the pressure switch ( behind the near side headlamp) failed

and it can also occur if the system needs a regas or has a leak .

Good luck, I hope its the cheap regas option?
