It appears that next week I may finally be ordering a new car....

Glacier White A3 Sportback S-Line 1.4 TFSI

with

Tech Pack - High (Audi Connect)
B&O System
Interior Lighting Pack
Non-Smoking Pack
Hold Assist
Comfort Pack (With Cruise Control and Parking System Plus w/Park Assist)
Folding Mirrors
SE Comfort Suspension
Privacy Glass

Very excited and used this forum a lot to look for info before I order. Suspension has been the hardest choice to make but after 3 test drives, I think comfort is the way to go, especially for where I live and for any long journeys. I just hope body roll isn't too bad for when I want a spirited drive.....

I'll probably source one of the little Audi ashtrays as well but I'm sure I've read on here about not using the cigarette socket to power devices for an extended period so I should stick with the non smoking pack.

If anyone has done a long journey with the 1.4, feel free to leave your experience here, wondering what the pace is like for long hauls. If anyone want to suggest other choices or options (no one break my heart and say go for an S3:crying:), please do!:arco:

I would spec the ACC option (which is quite cheap once you have the comfort pack). I use it far more than I would standard cruise (although I do have an s-tronic, so it can shift automatically).

I agree with arad85 and would recommend the ACC. Your spec is rather similar to mine and the only other "nice to have" item rather than essential is the Extended mono.pur interior finish - if you look at this and other photos on the internet it does make a massive difference to the perceived quality of the interior - for £295. Probably get shot down but I would have the Audi Sound System and the Mono-pur rather than just the B&O.

I wish I had gone for mono pur, the standard grab handles really let the interior down. Stick with the B&O, I've got the Audi sound system and really wish I hadn't been such a tight ar#* and stumped up the extra cash for the B&O.

Oh hell go for B&O, ACC and Mono-pur - you only live once!

Yup. Wish I'd spent the £295 on mono.pur.

Would be inclined to agree with this; it certainly isn't the end of the world without it, but the plasticy "leather" you get instead is a little cheap compared to the rest of the interior. In general I think the OP's spec looks good.

Shame Audi do such a bad job of showing what you get with Mono.pur - the pics and description in the configurator are awful (as is the name to be honest, means nothing to most people!)

I agree and have said so on other threads. When I bought my TT they described it as "Extended leather package" which is quite clear to understand. Even if Mono-pur is NOT leather I'm sure the brights young things in Audi marketing could think of a better description. Even a photo as above in the Specification Guide would help!

If I had the money, I'd go for all of the above and the COD engine.....I'll have a word with the dealer when I go in on Thursday to see what can be done but taking the B&O off might make me wince a little:crying:

Keep the B&O! If you originally chose it then drop it you will always regret it.
Re your original post, I have s-line with SE suspension and I don't notice any extra body roll over the sport suspensions I tested.
I think good advice is to stick with everything you originally specced, as that was your gut instinct. Add other stuff if you can afford it but don't subtract.

Add Audi Connect... You are almost there with the Tech Pack High and will kick your self if you want it in the future.. You cannot add it.
I was in the same position as you, added it and am delighted I did

Yes front is cigarette, rear and boot is 12V. Charging phone, sat nav from the front socket will be fine. Just cool boxes, air compressors, etc need to be used in rear / boot sockets.

Or at least that's my understanding, hence why I stuck with smoking pack.

ACC and Audi Connect are equally awesome

You are almost certainly correct.
My initial order stated Option PNQ Tech Pack at 1495 pounds on the Factory Order
I then upgraded to option WB4 Tech Pack High with Audi Connect at 1795 on the factory order

Tech Pack 'High' IS connect isn't it?

I think you're spot on there, I will keep the B&O! Good news with the suspension, definitely didn't want sport suspension because of the state of roads around here!

RE: Audi connect - I've changed the first post to avoid anymore misunderstandings as Tech Pack High is definitely with connect (I should've said that from the start:whistle2:)

Just us forum folk being anal lol

Apologies for the double post but just an update.....

Just come back from the dealer and I have ordered! Specced as per my original post as I couldn't get him to budge on the price of the ACC and can't afford to push the monthly payments into the next £100 bracket......Still, I'm over the moon right now!:sign_omg:

I guarantee the thing that will make you smile most EVERY day is the b&o...be excited for your delivery!

I've got a very similar spec as you, getting mine around September, cannot wait :w00t:

Good choice! I've been told mid-September to October but still no build week:unsure: Cannot wait but I need to not second guess my option choices at least 4 times a day now......

Haha yeah I changed my options quite a lot... I was recently going to change to Alcantara Seats but was told that I cant now as the order has been confirmed at Audi :(

I'm sure its still going to be quality though!

If I had the money and the insurance wasn't likely to be a killer, I'd have gone fully loaded S3 but one can only dream:noway: I could add ACC if I found the money from somewhere but can't see it happening. As long as I kept the B&O, I was quite happy (Chosen without being able to test in an A3 and knowing of some issues but taking a leap of faith)

The electronic hand brake is going to throw me for a week or two....

It's like waiting for Santa:jump:

Yeah I think after 2-3 years I will be pricing up an S3 or something similar!

I was looking at a Fiesta ST as a fun car but the S3 would be a great all in one I think! Funnily enough, dealer rang 5 minutes ago with my build week!!

Yeah the interior of the Audis are so much nicer than equivalents from other companies, that's what sets them apart I guess :w00t:

What build week did you get then mate?

Interestingly I've added the mono.pur to my order for my next car as, from the pictures I've seen, I do think it looks a lot better than the standard door handles which are a bit of a let down, especially when you have the perforated leather/alc seats with white stitching as I do - the bland door handles look really out of place.

I had to ditch the hold assist in order to squeeze it in but that's no hardship. Wouldn't ever have ditched the B&O for it though!

Week 37 so should be delivered late September! I'll think of it as a slightly late birthday present!

I was considering mono.pur too but really couldn't add anything else as I was pretty much at the max I could possibly pay per month unfortunately. I'm absolutely over the moon though as it's one hell of a step up in car for me with pretty much every option I could hope for
