I took delivery of a new A3 not too long ago and have noticed interior creaks from the passenger side (not sure if it is the seat, glove box, or the arm rest area). It is only noticeable during accleration or braking or going over large bumps.

Has anyone heard something similar?

Does anyone know any fix for that?

Thanks.

I've had similar. Try adjusting the seat angle of either driver or passenger seat one at a time and see if that helps. I had much less creaks with my 8p :(

also check the door striker, I had the complete passenger side panels out and they couldn't find anything, put a bit of grease on the passenger door lock and all sorted

I had a new S-line last year and for the first 9 months its been back 9/10 times to the dealer due to squeaking seat belt adjuster, then a squeaking driver seat then a broken drivers seat and the last one was a squeaking dashboard due to the central consult (between passenger & drivers seat) being to tight when it goes under the dashboard causing a squeak to come from the dashboard.
It took more than a couple of visits to sort each one out but touch wood squeak free for now.

What grease do you recommend? Does wax work?

I had a really bad creek on my drivers seat which was driving me ****** nuts....... I ended up raising the seat by a few cm and it stopped!

I suspected that it was coming from the passenger seat and have played around with height, tilt, and etc....but nothing helped....

Does it do it all the time or is it weather dependent? Does it do it if you are parked up and turn the wheel back and forth?

You may have already discounted this after reading the thread I suggested earlier, but your symptoms sound so much like the ones I was getting from the faulty strut bearing on mine. Did you listen to the recording I made? http://www.purpleville.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/temp/A3Rattle.m4a

Maybe worth taking a hosepipe and spraying water up under the wheel arches and wetting down the top strut mounts. Mine only did it when they were dry.

Not sure if weather dependent yet (need more varying weather to say).....it doesn't do it if I am parked up and turn the wheel back and forth.

The creaks also are much milder than your clip and they only appear when I accelerate or brake hard. When I squeeze some hard plastic parts, I can reproduce the sound, so I am quite sure it is interior.

Good luck with finding it, I know how infuriating these things are...

Thanks. I won't give up! :racer:

If it doesn't get better in 2 weeks, I am going to the dealership to complain. They told me that it was normal because the plastic was so new and that it should get better in a couple of weeks.

I had a really annoying squeek from my a3 8p and it turned out it was coming from the side bolster part of the seat (leather) and the plastic trim on the edge of the seat - I wedged in a small piece of rubber and cured it.

Had a creak yesterday going over small bumps. Seemed internal, and when I opened then closed the glove box it stopped.

It seems to be worse in colder weather....but not 100% sure yet.

There probably isn't a copy of it on the internet, but your dealer will be able to produce this if asked.
