Hi all got a bit of a query . Replaced cam position sensor at weekend, got the part from tps, and heres the problem, when engine is upto temp (90) and change up a gear usually from 2nd to 3rd im hearing a pinking sound this only happens if driving on any sort of incline and only lasts for about a second. When i was swapping the parts over i did notice when i looked down the barrel of the sensor my original part had the number six imprinted on it, the new part has a number 8 imprint, could this be the wrong part? . The part was changed in attempt to cure hot start problem and intermittent emmisions light. The emmisions light hasnt been on since but hot start problem still there. Any help greatly appreciated . Sorry forgot to say the pinking sound has only started since changing the cam position sensor and the car is 04 2.0 fsi . Cheers

That part number is a current number, it doesn't go over. ('impulse sender camshaft')
