Poorly Car :-(

I've got the 1.8t AGU engine and it's running like its got a miss fire at low revs and struggles to pull away and get up to speed. It's brought up the fault code of 0561 ( mixture adaptation 1.1 exceeded ). We cleared the code, un plugged the MAF and it seemed better. We have now replaced the MAF and it's still running very rough and lump. We've checked the air/turbo pipes and all seem to be ok.
It's been well serviced and has had a fuel filter recently.

Any ideas?
 
Possible a coilpack... start the car and unplug them 1 at a time and listen for any changes..
 
Definitely sounds like a coilpack mine was the same, but I wouldn't unplug them to check while the car is running as that just sounds like a recipe to cause knock, I would go and buy a single coilpack and swap it out one by one, it'll cost you the price of a coil but at least there's no risk of screwing your timing/engine
 
Thanks for all your advice. Will check the coils. I've got it booked into the garage too as I've got a burning rubber smell too :-(.
 
After getting my car to the garage they checked it out and it was the ignition module. A cheap fix so back on the road again :icon_thumright:
