I know the size is 225/40/18 , what brand of tyres are fitted from new? And would you guys recommend sticking with that brand? (In the past I normally stick with whatever tyres come as standard rather than switching over to another brand)
Just to note, although I enjoy giving my cars a blast, I don't throw them round corners or take them on tracks so for me I prefer a tyre to give me more life and be a good all rounder like in the snow etc, rather than a grippy fast wearing sports tyre...

thanks!

I was reading some threads just this morning on this same subject! I got a flat tyre at the weekend so wanted to see what is the best option before getting them replaced.

Ive decided to not go for the Conti Contact 5 tyres that came with the car, but got for the Dunlops Sport Maxx RT instead

Vredestien sessantas are a good tyre and surprisingly good in the snow not that I agree at all with running summer tyres in winter.

Personally it'll be Michelin PSS for summer and winter tyres for errr winter.

My 2.0TDI-184 stronic quattro came from the factory with 225/45 x 17 Dunlop Sport Maxx RT tyres and I've found the very good. Quiet and good grip with the quattro drive. I would certainly buy them again when it comes time to change.

I'll probably be going to Goodyear F1 Eagles when I change, if only for the rim protector.
