Can anyone give me any helpful ideas? My 2002 a6 2.5 tdi had recently had a clutch and duel mass flywheel and a fortnight after it had a turbo replaced. Everything felt great, but now my power past 3000rpm seems less. It seems lethargic and not as pokey as it once did. Not sure where to start as there aren't any error codes showing. Any ideas?

Many thanks Scott

Ah ok. Didn't realise I had one of those. Thought that was on newer cars alone. Is that something I can check, (as a hobby mechanic) or do i need a garage to do this? :)

He meant the catalyst converter. The car doesn't have DPF. Not from factory, that is.

Can the cat get blocked then? I knew about that prob with dpf's but didn't realise a cat did similar things.

The problem might lie with your replacement turbocharger, misadjusted VNT actuator will cause overboost and the car will cut fueling- aka "limp mode"... Also exhaust manifolds are known to break internally, small pieces of metal shards will go trough the turbo damaging the turbine wheel and jamming the VNT mechanism- take the car to someone that knows how these engine work... How far away from N. London are you ?

I'm in Sittingbourne in Kent so I'm a good hour away. Did wonder about the turbo, but everything seemed ok until recently. It's confusing.

If you want to fix the car without spending silly money then you better come and see me...
