As above my Number plate lights not working still even after strip replacement. Both bulbs were blown and it all looked a little singed in there.

Ive run out of ideas. The error code keeps coming up even after turning car on/off etc.

ANY ideas are appreciated

I'm guessing you already did the obvious like fuse, and making sure there's no water ingress, so this may or may not be helpful but have a look beyond the number plate bulbs at other bulbs that might have blown, some audis show weird bulbs problems where eg LH bulb won't work but its a bad connection on the RH if that makes sense. ALso did you take a look at the connectors behind the interior trim?

grab a multi-meter and check the connections I'd say, could be a break in the wire or around the contacts :)

It will be the comfort module unit...in English the whole light unit is faulty.

You will need to change it.

A little update*
You're all correct, stuck screws ment new comfort module. Then broken wire in the harness between boot and boot lid.
I then had a bit of a head scratcher though, after I changed the comfort module (lighting unit). The door handle would activate the lock to open as long as the boot was open (just went clunk). But if the boot was shut it wouldn't activate it.

Anyway after a lot of head scratching I figured out where I had changed the key barrel in the lighting unit, the key when i turned it in the barrel seems to have 3 different settings. Open boot with key, open boot with key or boot handle or the last position seemed to de activate the boot lid door handle all together. I'm not sure if this is correct or weather my key is just quite sticky in the barrel , but it's what I found and it could help someone down the line.

Thanks once again guys you've helped massively!

It's funny how when something goes wrong and you fix it, you discover something not really related to that problem and tends to help for the future and/or other people :)
