Pics from a 2000 TT BAM engined car that i am breathing life back into (he says!). After doing a block test and leak down test found a significant leak in cylinder 1 through the coolant tank, head removed, gastket looked fine but you will notice a few cracks here and there :) and a monster in the exhaust mani !! Needless to say im now considering options for a replacement, which is why i have posted a wanted ad in the classifieds, considering new / 2nd / transferring internals over etc, so feel free to get in touch.

Sorry to say but it would be cheaper just to get a new head or should I say a good used one.

The cracks are between the seats so the seats would need machining out. Then welded. Then new seat fitted. Then machining and the cost of that would be well in the hundreds so a good second hand one can be picked up for about £250 or less but the prices often refecked the quality of the head.

Thanks Andrew thought as much, but good to get a more experienced opinion!
