I live in France and we have to have the following in the car.

Inside the car
log book original not a copy
insurance document original
safety jackets at least two
triangle
spare bulb kit

displayed on the screen of the car.
ticket showing when mot runs out
ticket showing insurance and number plate of car.

what do you have to have in the UK?

And you won't even need a tax disc soon as from October as they are being phased out.
Suprised you don't need some kind of first aid kit as well in France, and the kitchen sink just in case.

Karl.

****** hell!
Do you need a stripey jumper, an onion necklace a nice bottle of wine and some camembert too?
Only messing lol!
But that is a bit excessive!
As said our tax discs are getting abolished, well the bit of paper in the window anyway as everything is computerised now, so all you have to do is drive past a number plate recognition camera that will grass you up to the feds!
Even have them on garage forecourts now!
Big brother is watching!

Would like all the left hand drive vehicles to fit those headlight deflectors/blockers when you visit the UK as we have to but that's never been law like it is the other way round :busted_cop:

You don't need to carry anything in vehicles in the UK, just the relevant documents to you and the vehicle

I must say I think all that you need to carry in France is quite sensible really and should be inforce here
