Hi guys I have found the S3 I want and have agreed to go and buy it this Saturday....
Extremely excited!!!!

What do I need to know about the quattro, does it need a service, what needs doing? Any care?

I have only had FWD before so never paid any attention to quattro,

Cheers

Yup its a reasonably easy DIY job if you have access to some axle stands etc.

As said above the oil should be changed every 20k and the filter every 40k but in order to change the filter you will need one of these VW / AUDI / SEAT / SKODA haldex filter service tool 46mm spanner AT466 | eBay

Be warned putting the oil in is a bit weird as it has to be filled from the drain hole so you gotta be quick swapping back to the plug once its full so you don't loose too much oil.

Its an easy enought job as the others said! i bought the tool and oil and filter off ebay. just use adams link!

i did it a few weeks ago on my drive. just make sure you jack the car up high enough otherwise it can be awkward putting the new oil in!!!

I would also get more than one tube of the haldex oil as it takes more than 1 tube to fill it . :)

Definitely takes only one tube. There are 2 holes, a drain hole and fill level hole. When you put one tube in a small dribble will come back out the fill level hole, showing it is full to the correct level.
