Hi,

I'm looking to buy an intake system for my B7 2.0t fsi Quattro Sline, which will compliment the GFB DV+ I've just fitted.

I've read different opinions on the site, especially whether they are worth the price tag, and whether to just go with a good panel filter. The thing is I think if you get the right one they sound damn good lol..so from your experiences any suggestions.?

I've been looking at the Carbonio carbon fiber intake, and have seen some YouTube videos for Revo, however I haven't found a Revo intake for my particular model.

Thanks guys

Is making a custom one out of the question?

Easily done. 3" alley pipe (mock something up then get it welded). Get a selection of bend etc of ebay. Cone filter and a silicone reducer to connect it to the turbo! Can either get a MAF flange or incorporate the existing MAF housing into the pipe work. When i get round to it i'm going to make one up. Only issue i can see is the heat from the manifold. Maybe some heat shielding moulded around the pipework

exactly!!!!
custom air intake with a DIY heat shield is what u need.
Decent results at a third of the price of a.. (carbonio?)

carl-1968 has an air intake pipe, dual mushroom filters and a heat shield which is/was custom made.

Drop him a PM and he might send you some pics...

I'm using an ITG panel filter, I'd recommend the same or go carbonio intake. The reason being both methods have a cold air feed from the front avoiding the hot air being sucked in from around the turbo area.

Yep, agree with Solaris, I've tried many over the years which don't really compare. It was ridiculous how much more responsive mine was with the carbonio. Worth the money

Hey, thanks for all the replies. Got quite a few options looking at it...at the start it was the carbonio that I was leaning towards as it was a popular system for my car when searching.
Good thing is I believe I've found a good VW & Audi specialist on my doorstep that should be able to help with parts & mods when my girlfriend leaves me enough money to pay for them.:salute:
Will keep the thread updated when I take the plunge.
Big Al: it was your initial thread on the DV+ that convinced me to buy the part & I'm glad I did aswell, it's made a big difference.(Your car looks awesome by the way) will have to get some pics up of my real soon.

Cheers

Just to update an old post.
In the end after talking to a couple of you, I went for the APR carbonio air intake. I think it sits well under the bonnet, and certainly looks the part...sounds amazing when going through the gears. cheers.
