I have a 99 a4 with 1.8t. Got the car with 4 intake valves bent. I replaced all 20, had seats and valves done by machine shop as well as having the other side planed. All new gaskets, headbolts. Pistons and cilinder wall all good. Put it back together, everything in time.also new cam sensor. I have around 110 psi per cylinder. When I try to start it it just cranks like no fuel or spark. Pulled fuel rail and cranked. Injectors are good. Pulled all 4 packs put plugs in them and cranked, all firing. Still no start. Am I missing something? Tryed starting fluid, no fire. Tryed holding the pedal to floor to clear flood, no fire. Tryed pumping pedal, no fire. Tryed no pedal, no fire.please help I'm about to burn it to the ground!

Are you sure your timing is correct? In particular the cam chain timing?

One of the stupidest things I have ever done while re-assembling a head was to get the cams mixed up. Had the same symptoms you describe. It kind of burped a few times but would never start.

Cant really get the cams backwards on a 20v, they have different numbers of lobes and only one has a pulley ;)

I'd second the timing. Make 100% sure its right.

Timeing is correct 100% just took off cover to make sure again. It does burp like its gonna fire, but sadly no. When I hold the pedal to the floor it sounds likes its loading up. I don't have a obd to check codes or clear them. Could there be a code that won't let it start? Is there a way to clear codes without a scan tool like obd1 by using a jumper? I have unhooked the battery for days on end but it never reset the computer.
