Missing Plane

I would have thought that if it was at cruising altitude over sea wouldn't there have been other planes behind the plane or nearby which could potentially have seen something?

Living in **** for 4 years, I found something that was so annoying, and that is the whole notion around 'saving face'. I reckon something embarrassing has happened and they are badly trying to cover it up. Pilot was probably high, drunk or fell asleep. As it hasn't hit anything on the ground and is most likely in the Gulf of Thailand, it was probably still climbing and isn't that one of the most dangerous times for planes? After doing around 50k air miles being over there and living in various countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia and visited Burma a few times), and a few ****-eyed landings, it's safe to say I'm not looking forward to ever getting on a plane again.

The lack of a care for life is insane over there. Death doesn't bother them as the 'after life' is supposed to be so much better, people jump out in front of trucks to try and get compensation for their families and we often saw dead bodies were on the freeways.

I might sound like I'm generalising but I've seen first hand in many Asian countries that this is the case. The majority of them are retarded, in my opinion and experience. I'd hazard a guess that this 'missing' plane is something very embarrassing for Malaysian Airlines. I hope I'm wrong. I first heard the story on the radio while driving and me and the missus felt instantly sick at the thought of it. I feel so sorry for the families of the passengers.

Well hopefully they sort things out and find them all fine and well (Slim chance I know).

It is however causing issues with shipments. I have some products coming from Taiwan and its being held at customs because of this :(

Very strong words there. I wouldn't think thats true for everybody, I'm sure some people will actually want to live.
The generalisation of people being retarded is controversial also. Not very PC.

However I do agree with you that the people over there have a different culture and don't like to be embarrassed, or in your words "save face", a term I must admit I haven't heard before.

OK maybe retarded was the wrong word.

As for being politically correct, that's very much an UK/US/Canadian-centric phrase, and not taken into consideration in the majority of other countries on the planet. Also, my experience and speaking to many many people over there from all different backgrounds says that what you 'think' compared to what I have heard first hand are two different things - they don't care about life. At all. Being alive is just a short path to another life, which if you're like me makes no sense whatsoever, and hence why I don't live there any more. I'm not arguing by the way, which it might seem when written down, just talking normally :)

Anyway, I've gone off track just like a certain plane. I hope it turns up. In fact, I hope it is a terrorist and there is ransom wanted, at least then the passengers have some hope for survival. Anyone else have any ideas what has happened? There's a TV program on tomorrow 'live' talking about it, which I'm sure I'll watch.

I doubt its there either!!

Lets see what comes of this.

its not the first time a plane has been lost without trace, five US bomber planes completely disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle:

Aircraft squadron lost in the Bermuda Triangle — History.com This Day in History — 12/5/1945

No traces of the wreckage or any of the airmen have been found..

Thoughts go to the families waiting news on their lost/loved ones!

Sorry to disappoint you but the 5 Avenger Dive bombers were found years ago on the sea bed. Just google it, as it's been widely reported before.

More development on flight MH370 a week after they lost it! It was deliberately diverted, and the comms deliberately disabled, and the jet carried on flying for a possible further 7 hours after losing communications!

I mean it's 2014, surely the technology is there to triangulate any signals, if my iPhone can triangulate my position within 10m in a matter of seconds! It took them a week to find this info?

Interesting...7 hours from KL could be anywhere. They wouldn't have landed on a piddly little island, as there would be a need to refuel or have a getaway. Sounds like the making of a film in the future, sadly.

That TV programme about it last night on C5 was a waste of time.

I heard they've crash landed on an island with a smoke monster and a load of polar bears.

It's an American secret weapon that clocked the plane and it altered the time space continuum and it shifted the plane to an alternative universe.

Imagine if they landed on Saturday, at the time they were scheduled to 2 weeks ago, completely oblivious to the fact 2 weeks had passed?

Well it's been confirmed found, and that's about the only good news, as there's "beyond reasonable doubt" of any survivors!! :(

Prayers go out to all the family members. RIP

I need to rephrase this, the Jet has not been found, but there's been a break through of which direction it flew, so they are in the right vacinity of where it most probably gone into the ocean.

Terrible news,I knew it was unlikely but hoped in some bizarre turnout it was found on land somewhere.

RIP

RIP, such a shame it turned out this way, although I guess in a way its a relief that there is some closure now and that will put an end to some of the conspiracy theories out there.

Terrible time for the families too, thoughts and prayers are with them all.
