Hi everyone, I started car today and it all started fine, all gauges work apart from the speedo which is intermitten, it works then sometimes it doesn't. Checked on vagcom no faults show. What could it be ? Thank you

So is the speedo not working the only thing wrong with the car, If so why can't you drive it. ?
It's likely to either be a cluster issue or a problem with the speed sensor on the gearbox.
What year / engine is the car, is it manual or auto.

Could be worse...
Got in to my car after it not being driven for nearly 4 weeks, to find it started perfectly but had no instrument cluster lighting, DIS, or climate control displays!! Put the interior light on and discovered I had no working gauges at all!!
Checked the exterior lights all worked and it drove fine.
Went out the next day cleared the fault log. Took it for a drive and it was all playing ball.
