Got a quote from a garage £140+VAT for genuine audi thermostat and temp sensor on audi A3 2.0T 55 reg is this good?

The parts are what say 50 ish? some coolant and a bit of time.

well 140-50 = 90 which is like 2 hours labour.

Does it really take that long to swap it?

Pretty sure the alternator is in the way, never worked on mine, so not sure how hard to do.

I would say that price is Ok. I paid a lot more at VW to have the same job done on our 1.8T and our car did of need the alternator removing.

thermostat is a ****** - you wanna hear the swearing my mechanic done after doing mine lol. he done the cambelt too said it was a piece of pee.

Did my stat the other day, took about 2.5hrs. Like with most things taking it apart is the worst bit, getting it back together took lees than an hour I'd say. Part incl. coolant was about 46 from audi.
