Only phone photos, but took some photos of my new Misano Red with pano while still nearly spotlessly clean.

Hi everyone. I would just like to say thank you to everyone who has been posting pics. I have ordered s-line 1.4cod comfort pack, interior lights, tinted windows and folding mirrors with a build week 7, hopefully due in March sometime. They offered me a rubbish trade in for my Golf GT 2.0TDI so I have sold it privately. Now car sharing with my girlfriend's Yaris until March......this site is the only thing keeping me remotely sane!

Is that the current build week? I enquired and was told week 4 at present?

If you can get build week 4 at this stage that's pretty good going. I ordered a month ago and initially got bw 5, it's since come forward to bw 3.

Ok so are you waiting until the new reg in march? How long will it take to arrive?

Yeah, was told that the timing should be pretty much perfect for March reg. I hope so, I've just bought a '14 reg "poser plate" for it (thought I'd beat him to it!).

Nice! In a country where you can actually open the sunroof from time to time.

Thanks bud!

Definitely, you can open up the sunroof almost year round in South Africa, so it's a must have option here.

Wasn't too sure about the roof on the sportback in grey but it looks alright actually from certain angles, not sure about the seat and steering wheel offerings there, odd how some things are or are not on offer in some countries or maybe that's your choices so tough if you don't like.

No I find it just right, can feel the bumps etc but it's so smooth compared to my 2007 a3 s-line.. It looks amazing though :)

How do you like the engine? Have you been getting a good feel for it or keeping it below 4000rpm?

engine is brilliant ! Been driving normal, had a few dual carriage way runs.. Definitely quicker than my previous 170 a3 8p, engine has more of a curved power band now and it sure does go, currently getting around 32 mpg but only done over 100 mile. Have been told it takes time so :) but thumbs up from me, I can imagine the 185bhp will go like stink to say mine feels a lot quicker than a 150.

I like the front bumper on the S-line looks mean not seen to many pics of the s3 but so far the sline looks better.

What you say doesn't make much sense, the s3 essentially has a similar front end to the sline with just minor differences. Saying the sline looks better than the s3 is quite ridiculous.

In case someone is wondering what do those 18" multi-spoke Star design wheels look like in real car, here is mine with sport suspension day before delivery as I wanted to see them on before winter tires and wheels were swapped on (Finnish market 1.4 TFSI COD S-tronic "Business Sport"). Business sport is basically Ambition/Sport with Xenon lights, LED tail lights and few other options bundled for Finnish market.

the bumper on the sline looks better from what I have seen not the car

checked the S3's here and the sline front bumper looks better to me.

I've seen the wheels before but they look like a ****** to clean to me. Very nice saloon though...

Looks really good flugel hound. Good pic location !I would personally delete / photoshop out your number plates, as if someone wants to clone number plates on to stolen "Amalfi white sport back A3", if they google it, your pics may come up, other pics of posts on this forum do if you google images. My dad had his plates cloned on a stolen car a few years ago on the same type and colour car as his and he got speeding tickets and parking tickets for about 18 months and he had difficulty proving it could not have been him as they had photos of "his car / model / colour" was a real pain for months, so maybe I am over cautious and could happen anyway, but why risk it. Hope you enjoy the car, I am sure you will.

With that logic we'd better cover our plates up when we're parked or driving around then, just to be sure!

cheers, Paul.

I know is not fool proof, but if you want to clone a specific car / model / version / colour etc. the likely hood of just seeing that one in the car parked to match all those things to clone is fairly unlikely, but to google a pic, it take a few seconds. Every thing is done by photos nowadays so if the spec and colour all matches a speeding fine or parking ticket, it is much hard to prove its not your car. I know what is a lot more likely to be the case, so why make it easy for them. They can copy a car on a forecourt somewhere rather than mine. Unlikely I know, but my dads experience has made me a bit more cautious.

I would rather be cautious, never know what the next scam to come along is. Plus thieves are lazy, and the best way to clone a reg is to do one thats not in their area. Hence the web would be their first port of call. Also it aint my car but the companies. So decided to delete the pics and redo the reg to be safe.

I couldn't agree more, I always blank my plates out

Not saying you're wrong, maybe just a tad too paranoid though!

Surely it would make things far more difficult to disprove if the plate was copied and used CLOSE to the area of the original car. The further away the cloned (Googled) plate - the easier to prove the car ain't yours!

As an example, how could a car be robbing banks and racking up speeding tickets in Lancashire (for example), when it has also been seen out and about in Cornwall (for example) on the hundreds of CCTV cameras about? Contrary to popular belief, Plod isn't completely daft!

Look at Autotrader website - a veritable crimewave!

20131214 152847 002I would say Paranoid is a bit strong.
Im being cautious, acting on advice of longer forum member having had close experience.

Contacting the authorities to wade through cctv camera footage in you local area just to disprove a speeding ticket aint gonna happen.

Fluges
