The seats fitted to my 2011 s3 are half leather and either cream suede or alcantara inserts, not sure which? Want to know what's the best way to clean and protect them?

I'm 86.5% sure they're alcantara... I have the same seats in mine..

I use anti-static foam cleaner and a cloth, the white is a nightmare to keep clean eh lol... that does the trick for me tho, i'm sure its Amborsil, dunno where you'd buy it, I get it through the work so its free... ha

As far as im aware they are alcantara, and im sure alcantara is classed as a fabric so you should be ok with a fabric cleaner and a cloth. In terms of protection a scotch guard should work fine.

I have Alcantara on my A4s steering wheel, handbrake and gearstick, first time I've had a car with it! The guy at the garage i bought it from warned me they get shiny with the skins natural greases but that diluted upholstery shampoo with a toothbrush and wiped with a lint-free cloth was good for it - given them 1 clean and was well impressed with the results!!

I bought some raceglaze alcantara cleaner. It brought my steering wheel up really well. Spray let it soak in then a wipe with a micro fibre. Brought pile back up as well
