Loaded from my phone so not sure how it sized the pic : )
I'm hoping rain will roll off, anything more substantial just means the car needs cleaning, if I'd known it was going to be a PITA I probably wouldn't of bothered.

I agree about it looking alot cleaner, simple cheap mod (if you can get the wiper off).
I will invest in some rainx, cheers for that.

Seems strange to go to all the trouble of removing the badges and rear wiper and then to leave the number plate surround with the dealers name on it. I have my number plates stuck directly to the car without the surround. Personally I think it looks much better. I also use my rear wiper far to much to want to consider removing it. I like to know what's happening behind me as well as in front.

I've always known I was going to private plate this car but it always gets pushed back, coilovers will be going on this week and so the next thing will probably be the plate, I have my eye on one. You are right though, if I'd had my head screwed on I could of done the surround and saved myself a job.
I drive coaches, vans and lorries without viewing out of the back, hopefully I can handle a blurry view when it's raining, besides I drive so slow there is never anything behind me : )

I've gone for a rear wipe delete aftr I busted the housing of the motor and have a real droopy wiper now. Prced up the parts to about £50.

I'll see how I get on over the coming months and if I miss the wiper lots, I'll get another.

I'll G-Techniq the glass too which should help dispel the water.

If I had a Vauxhall I would consider de badging out of embarrassment.

With an Audi I prefer the out of the factory look complete with standard badges.

Also think there are many A5 and A7 would be in the market for your old bidet (rear wash wipe) if you put it on EBay

The 3.2 & Quattro badge will be staying on :D

Sorry to bump the thread, I am interested in this mod and wondering is there any that has a step by step guide on how to do it and what tools needed?

Many Thanks

It's pretty straight forward.

The hard bit is getting the wiper arm detached from the motor shaft. I'm going to use bolt cutters to cut off. Not faffing around.
I'll post up pics when it's done.

That is much appreciated mate. Don't want to get it wrong or damage anything

I heard that it makes the back window slack when dewipered, not sure if that is rue tho.

Ahhh.

No it won't mate..

Currently when I've been trying to get the arm off, the shaft already flexes and moves, it's just surrounded by a rubber gaitor seal, so removing it will have no difference :)

You can see the rubber gaiter in the pictures attached.

Currently as my motor has nothing holding it in place, it's flapping around in the back!

Was it difficult to get the wiper arm off of the motor shaft?
Thats what I'm worried about don't want to pull too hard and break the window lol

That's what caused me to break the brackets holding the motor in :( my heavy handiness.

I intend to use bolt cutters to cut through

Just waiting for the delete grommet to arrive and I'll take pics through each step.

De wipered ok!
De Badged not ok at all, look at my car for example:
DSC 0003

Need to put those badges on asap!

It doesn't look that bad de badged, very clean and uncluttered look

you really should buy a wiper puller, would be cheaper in the long run when you get ham fisted with the bolt cutters and put them through the back window

i think I'll just go with the pullers don't want to damage the back window or any panels. Then see what size grommet I will need to use.

You can get the grommet from halfords for a couple of quid, code HFX321.
You can cut enough plastic away from the wiper to actually pull it through the boot if you're stuck, saves risking the glass

does led the grommet just push into place or do you have to glue it in?

Handy to know as it's still not arrived!

De-wiperd mine this evening after work, I just cut through the spindle on the wiper unit I wondered why my washer jet wasn't working on the rear turns out the spindle itself was ruined looks like someone's hammered it from the top before there was no channel left for the fluid

Also are any of you blocking off the rear water pipe or just leaving it dangle around?

I was as going to ask about the water piper, can it just be tied in a not, or use a cable tie or something?

Don't fancy accidentally pulling the stalk and flooding out the boot door card!
