Just as well you only live 500 yards away then Marc

Pop over some time for a cup of tea mate :)

dont live in hatch warren anymore mate.....live in the flats just by town now so still not a million miles away haha

*awaits every man and their dog getting white track wheels on their standard car and blagging it's a track car.

Ah Sam, don't!

Seen a few sets going, 17x9J from the old World Touring car toledos that ran 5x100 instead of a centre nut.

I'm just not sure the 9J rears would go in the back. These slicks are a 240-610, and they sit on the 8J rims really nicely :)

Everyman and his dog blags their car is a track car anyway from just fitting a tow strap and a tow here sticker along with taking out the back seats these days.

It makes no difference what wheels they fit lol.

So true :(

And the worst bit, Most of the tow straps are mounted in such a way, and with such bolts, that if you were ever to try and tow on them, they'd bend / snap off immediately!

Mine's been towed on mine, several times I'm ashamed to say :racer:

Little vid from Castle Combe, second session of the day, taking it reasonably easy due to insane amounts of traffic.

Filmed on Robins HD camera with steadycam settings, so it's smoothed out.

it seems I've calmed down a bit these days too, nowhere near as lairy as before, you just can't risk it on such busy days with so much different cars out there.

Got another clip coming later hopefully, which should be a bit more entertaining.

Moving starts around 2:50 I'm afraid, prior to that it's Emily (AndyP's girlfriend) and I discussing the difference between boost and NOS

Talking of insane traffic i watched some of the videos of my mate at trax. Theres about 60 cars on track at once. Massive clusterf*ck and the track was basically driving on an ocean there was so much standing water.

One of the lads counted over 65 cars let out in one session Jase, I'll find you a link to the video of everyone leaving, I was in it!

by the time I left the pitlane, the first car to leave had already completed 2 laps.

dude busy watching it on hd with earphones!!! my palms are sweating lol

btw what that annoying rattle and what warning is the BEEPS

Beep is one of two things: Sometimes the ABS beeps because it gets confused when a rear inside wheel lifts.

Sometimes I get a random warning to suggest a brake light bulb has failled. I have NO idea why this happens, and no idea how to stop it. both my brake lights work perfectly!

I don't do electrics

brake lights work - warning system sometimes think they don't. surely voodoo?

Sometimes, the warning won't come up for months. Sometimes, it'll come up every 15 seconds and drive you insane. I can't disable the beep, because it's also the beep for all other mass failures I want to be told about.

argh.

"Because NOS is cheating". I laughed when you said that.

In regards to the light out warning, check the bulb holder connections and also the light cluster plug/earth point for signs of any dirt/corrosion/moisture. If there is a slightly higher resistance than normal on a connection it will throw the warning even though the bulb still works.

Good thought Lewis, that makes sense!

Will take a look one day this week. i think it must be a funny earth, as it's so random, sometimes loads, sometimes it doesn't beep at all, and it does seem temperature dependant at times too.

The second video's up now, much better session than the last one, action starts at 5:00

And the first one embedded, in case any skim-readers missed the link before (action starts at 2:50):

Really pleased with my little camera, nice to get a chance to see what it's like on track, as it'll probably be a while before I get to test it out myself.

And a couple of my pictures from the day:

Some random not-Nick ones. Full set's here.

That mx5 near the beginning had some big aero going on.

Black scooby wasn't slow either. Nice video apart from the vibration lol.

What's your verdict on the new brakes now you've had chance to use them in anger with the newer setup ??? and do you have lap times to compare to previous visit's ?

There's a lever on the floor between the two front seats. It's supposed to be in the down position.:moa: :jester: :racer:

Mine used to blow the rear bulbs due to the switch being faulty... never had it beep at me though

Any idea what boost setting the revolution scooby was running when you were having a play with it?

I know it has a few different settings from talking to the bloke who owns revolution when my wheels were getting aligned there.

Kind of want to go back and say what was the crack with getting smoked off prawny and his 1.8 a3 haha.

You need to try break its record at the ring now ;)

Impressive stuff as usual anyway.
