Evening all,

Unfortunately, with the A3 becoming 3 years old the MOT is fast approaching so I'm considering an exit from the Audi family (it's been a VERY difficult decision and one I'm reluctant to make). Despite it being nothing like an Audi for build quality, I'm considering the purchase of a Ford Fiesta ST2 to replace the much loved A3, but only if I get the correct kind of money for mine.

Having looked on Auto Trader there doesn't seem to be much out there of the same spec. so I'm a little unsure what it's worth - I'm after a little help....

My spec. is as follows:

MY11 Audi A3 Black Edition - Ibis White
17500 Miles
Full Audi Service History
Technology Pack
Interior Light Pack
Heated Front Seats
Tyre Pressure Monitor
Folding Mirrors
Aluminium Pedals

Four new tyres (to be fitted shortly)
Car annually detailed by Ti22 Vehicles so in excellent condition
Front seat covers used from day 1

Slight curbing to to front passenger alloy

Thoughts on an acceptable price tag?

Cheers!!

Why is needing an MOT a problem? If you like the car stick with it! It's probably worth about the same as you'd pay for a ST, but the cars are in the different league IMO. The Fiesta is a good looking car, and very quick, but you'd soon miss the build quality and all the goodies on the A3!

Sorry to say it m8 but I think ud be off ur head to sell or trade it in for a fiesta.
I think ul be very disappointed after u have done it and regret it.
Mines due for its first mot in sept and I'm not worried one bit even tho I have double the mileage than urs.
Only thing ul be paying for will be the mot and the brake fluid change :)

Seriously thinking of getting rid for an mot?
The mind boggles

Selling up because your MOT is due

Also MOT's can be done now for only £30.

I'm guessing these are the kind of replies I'm looking for; confirming my stupidity!!

I don't want to sell but I do fancy a change, but in the back of my mind I know it would be a decision I would soon regret when I sit in the Fiesta cabin made entirely of cheap plastic....

Im sure normal people upgrade to a better car so why are you downgrading to a ford fiesta ? Lol it will fly through MOT mine always does

Go test drive a fiesta. my mrs just got a b max on mobility. its disgusting. its based on fiesta chassis, feels solid as its a brand new car, but its slow noisy and ...just... ewwww... lol

Your off your head mate, id not even swap my 02 reg tdi for a new fiesta other than to sell it and buy another a3.

just my opinion tbh.

Why not hire a car for a few weeks, youll soon wanna get back in the audi.

Would love to upgrade to the new A3 but cannot warrant putting £8k towards a new one....

I would keep that A3 , it's a nice looking car and more reliable than a fiesta and build quality on the Audi is solid !!

Dont do it !!:gun2:

give your car a small mod , just to change it a little , I was same when I sold my 3.2 I wanted an evo but I can't leave the Audi club now !! So I got an S3 :)

A different league I guess....

I know what u mean 1 thing I loved about the BE was the fbsw, looks amazing ;)

Ah mate i give it 3 months of driving in the fiesta and u will be depressed and be thinkin yhat you have ruined your life lol

and unless your under 20, then i think it looks silly driving fiesta ST's, i seen old guys driving round white ones with blue racing stripes and i laugh as it just looks redic! lol

JJ.

Your MoT is due on the 3rd anniversary of its registration.

You can book it in up to 4 weeks in advance of that date and preserve the due date.

if you do this, you will be doing the MoT within the 3 year warranty period - if anything is found wanting, the warranty will cover it.

In addition, if you pay £49.99 for your MoT this year, it will cover you for up to £750 worth of parts at the next MoT if it needs anything. Ask about the Audi MoT protection.

prolem solved :)

(Having said all this, the driving dynamics of the Fiesta is very very good. Dare I say it, better than an A3, somparing like with like. But that's about the only thing in its favour) ;)

Hmm just wondering if the brake fluid change will be covered by the warranty?
Hopefully that will be their leaving gesture ....
I doubt it lol :)

Ok then, now that I've come to my senses....

I need 4 new tyres, do I get myself winter tyres at a later date and purchase myself some new wheels?

Ideally I would like a set of MTM Bimoto but can't find them cheaper than £1700 (without tyres)?

I was going to say that's expensive for rims but after finding out how much audi rotors are I'd say it was fine lol.
Im sure if u took the plunge u would get a fair price for ur rims if u were selling them :)

Cant see or understand your logic whatsoever & it appears to me to be a for sale thread, to go to a ford fiesta is just nuts, but alas.
