Mrs popped to shop to get coolant, asked for g12, he gave her g48, she put the whole 1 litre in.
Will there be a problem?
1.8 turbo engine BEX

What is it?G 13 is correct. If its the wrong spec or overfilled you need to sort it

G48 is the same AS G11
it is for audi bmw etc

what colour is it ?

Hi thanks for replies, did a bit of searching on the net, and came to that same conclusion, different manufacturers use different codes!
not sure on colour think its blue, will check tomorrow, she said she put full litre in then a litre of water

So will it be ok if it's blue, Bez?

Personally, I would be tempted to flush and renew the coolant in the system.
If you have not done this before, or have any record of it - then its probably good preventative maintenance anyway, as it could be as old as the car.

Im not sure if G48 would be miscible with the chemicals in the G12/G12+/G12++ coolant that is already in there.

A coolant change is cheap and easy to do anyway, you can drain the existing stuff from the bottom of the radiator - the current G13 coolant is around £9 a 1litre bottle - you can get away with two litre's, the rest is water.
