Hi I've just bought a 2010 1.6tdi was wondering if any one had remapped it? And what the gains are? Also I've bought a condor grey 1 does anyone have this colour not seen many, I'm wanting to put black wheels and mirrors on it but not sure if it would look alright. Does anyone know where I cud get 2010 shape wing mirrors from in black looked on eBay and not any on there.

Can't you just get the caps re-sprayed in black? Would be cheaper.

What model you gone for, S-Line, Sport...?

Get some pics up so we can see her :)

I don't really want to spray them as I would like to put it back to standard when I want to sell it. I got a sport I needed a car good on fuel but low mileage, and it was a cheap option. Has anyone had a 1.6tdi remapped? I collect it tomorrow so can't post pics till then.

No matter petrol or diesel and of course I'm not an expert but according to what I have read over and over from the guys on the forum, is that small engine sizes such as the 1.6 show little to in reality no gains if its a performance remap! However surely if you go for the economy remap since its a diesel as well you should or could expect 10/15% improvement

But I believe you could expect to see about 127bhp!

Well my work do bluefin and super chips remap and they have said around 70nm or torque and around 30 - 35 bhp. I'm not really after performance as I do 600miles a week so it's economy I'm after just wondering if anyone on here has a remapped 1.6 as I had a previous 1.9tdi remapped and that gave around 5mpg more over what I was getting before the remap.

We've just come to the end of a lengthy development period with this engine, and are getting between 138-140bhp. This is still maintaining the DPF and running a lean mixture to prolong DPF life. The economy depends on driving style but typically we are seeing 3-4mpg increase.

I've not got round to advertising it yet, but we are going to do a summer offer of £250 for a remap for 1.6TDI engined cars :)

Thanks, Rick

is this doing a cmd boot? or can this be done via the odb port on the car? im thinking of getting a Bluefin as I don't want the ecu to be removed as it still has 6 months of the manufacturers warranty left.

Your ECU will need a little adjustment before the Bluefin will work on the 1.6 TDI.
But it’s worth it.

Yes, I waited until the warrantee expired then did it to save any issues.

Until recently Superchips only did the ECU remap for the 1.6, but they’ve now got some “adapter” that gets fitted to the ECU then you can use the Blue Fin, the main difference being that with the Blue Fin you can put it back to standard for servicing etc.

Only had it in for about a month now, initially the fuelling was looking good around 4-5mpg more. However since the current heat wave hit it’s hard to really compare as these days I’m driving everywhere with the roof down and air-con on so it’s not a fair comparison.

Do you find it gives you much more power? I find that the car doesn't kick in until around 2500 - 3000 rpm ive been used to driving a 2.0 118d bmw so im missing the added power. Do you know if the blue fin resets the ecu flash count every time you take the blue fin off and put it back on?

The ECU has to be unlocked, which involves removal no matter what system is uses. Superchips call it bluefin enable, it's all the same thing. You can't put it back to completely std with the bluefin, ECU has to be removed for that and "relocked"

No idea on the flash count, it may well increment but so what if it does? It’s my car, I paid for it

I deliberately waited until the warrantee expired before playing. In my opinion if you touch the engine/UCU whilst in warrantee and something happens then you have to assume that unless you’re lucky Audi notice it and will use it as lever to get out of fixing it.

I’ve been already been down to my usual Audi dealer and gave the service manager a straight choice, I told him it had been modified and if they can’t respect that then I’ll just go elsewhere, it’s amazing how quick they come down from their high horse.

I went with Bluefin as it can be put back to standard when it goes in for a service, that way if they ever do flash any ECU updates to the car the next flash will prompt for an adjusted code from Superchips so any future changes get incorporated if required.

Yeah that's a good point I think I might wait until my warranty runs out. Have you found your mpg has gone up or down or stayed the same?

The jury is still out on the mpg at the moment, its improved by about 5-6 mpg but I’m expecting that to increase once I calm down playing with the extra power, the recent weather isn’t helping with the roof down and air-con on most of the time which isn’t something I normally do.
