Ok I'm looking to find an spacer to go between my head and exhaust manifold and some extra long studs obviously so I can fit the spacer if anyone knows where I can get these from would be great thanks

The mani fold and massive turbo Means the snail on the turbo just touches the block so I need a spacer just too give me the extra bit of clearance

Where is it hitting? I had to grind a lump off the back of the block for mine....

I did think about trying that but think I need that extra bit so that's why I wana get a spacer do u know if I can get longer studs thou

That fixing on the block serves no purpose dude... no 1.8t I have worked on (Ibiza's, A3, S3, Leons, Polo's etc... ) use this for anything... if this 'boss' is the thing stopping you fitting the turbo then get the grinder out... be more reliable than using long studs that could stretch and two gaskets...

No idea on the availability of longer studs... guess they are available but you can't just use any old threaded bar else they will stretch from the heat and the manifold will come loose

Mine looks like its either gona hit that water channel next to the lug you ground down or those three like lugs next to it what u think those three lugs are for

If you look in the pic you sent to the left of the lug u ground down there's a water channel to the left of that theres 3 small lumps on the block in a row going down I'm hitting them but I will try an get some pics tomorrow if that helps

The three where the middle one is already ground lower the the outside two? I suspect these would be ok the remove tbh but without looking on an actual block I wouldn't want to commit...

There are a couple of scrap blocks at Bills but I am not there until next weekend so won't get a look until then...

Looking at the block I am using for my stroker build there are more of those jobbers on the side... may just be a visual indicator of some description rather than anything else so could be safe to remove...

I suspect that they are from casting the block if they are in other places aswell then I might try and take a small amount out off them maybe sand the edge of the snail on the turbo aswell thanks for the help
