1.9 tdi 130 awx remap file

Well Andrew did recommend the mpps to me but I had already bought the other one, cant mind the right name of it. It is worth it mate, good increase in power. Not as big of a power increase as I got on my awx passat from another seller, it was an animal compared to this map but still decent all the same.

ok guys update!!
i sent the galletto back and recieved an mpps v12 lead, set it up and connected to the car and read it sweetly, i must say the mpps looks better, it even gives you battery voltage at bottom of screen!
ive sent my ecu map copy of to andrew at blacksmoke and just waiting for a reply now!!!
itching to get it lol

hi guys, all done and was quite nerve wracking when it says erasing flash lol!
anyway did the upload and took it down the road, at first didnt feel much different but after a mile or two it really started to feel like it had pull in it, and the esp light kept flashing like a christmas tree and this is with 19s on the car!
im quite impressed, maybe not as much pull as i thought but like andrew says and been mentioned on here before is that the blacksmoke maps arent for full on power, just a nice raise in power and thats what i have now.
hopefully it will give me better mpg now to if i dont put my foot down too much.

Thus far I'm good mate, well impressed, the other map I got I'm waiting to I put new timing kit on and will then give you feedback on it. But definitely a bargin to be had.

on a side note I do now think I may have boost leak, no one about here tests for boost leak and I don't know where to test if I made a home made kit and what psi to test at.

Pleased with mine ..... i was little concerned with mpg at first but that was probably my eager right foot and the adaption having to sort itself out..... i have since brimmed the car as far as it would go and embarked on a weeks worth of granny driving on my commute to work and it's looking close to 700 miles out of a full tank which is pretty good for a quatty if i had to guess i would say i'm gonna get 670 miles and the best i've ever had is 650 so all good :)

Next thing is a K&N or similar and a proper egr delete from the likes of Allard oh and i'm on the lookout for some nice 18" alloys pref the first style of RS4's as there my fav wheel

After using mine for a few weeks i am impressed however ive noticed a few things. The power delivery is very smooth and pulls like a train from 1st TO 4th then it starts to die off ive struggled to get past 80mph but it gets there respectably quick
Mpg havnt noticed any difference its still great but i hardly check mpg

Ollie-B you must have some under lying problems.
My avf engined avant can break traction easily in 1st,2nd and occasionally 3rd in the wet. It pulls like a train to the red-line in the 1st 5 gears and I've seen 125mph on my private runway.
Thats me running a mix of normal diesel and bio.I regularly see 50+ mpg.My car has just passed 125k miles.
M

Does anybody know if this can be done on the petrol engines?

This thread made me buy the cable!
Il wait for its delivery to buy the file from Blacksmoke.
Andrew has been very helpful on email.

My traction light goes crazy in first and 2nd. My original map didnt pull as well as this new one but seemed to get me higher top speeds than this one, this one seems to loose grunt in the higher gears. Mine probly isnt the same map as yours as he had to make my map for me as it wasnt on his website

After reading this thread and one or two others on other forums, I decided to give blacksmoke.co.uk a go.

I got this lead (UK) MPPS V13 Remapping Tool OBD DL16 Chiptuning Flasher Remap EGR DPF FAP | eBay and once it arrived proceeded to copy my ECU using the guide on the website. The only issue I had here was an error about half way through but pulling fuse 15 (instrument cluster) did the trick.

I then emailed this map to Andrew at blacksmoke, as my ECU code wasn't listed on the website, in the afternoon and by the same evening I had a new map in my inbox. Now I was going to to some before and after logs with VCDS but I thought, sod it, get it on there! Uploading went without a hitch and the engine fired up first time. One recommendation I would make here is to pull fuse 4 (radiator cooling fan) as this kicks on during read and write operations and drops the battery voltage, in my case, by 0.6V. This would drop my battery voltage below the required 12V which is not good, apparently.

I've done a few good thrashes now and what a great improvement! Before the remap, my car had no interest in pulling beyond 2nd gear. Now it pulls like a train all the way up to the red line in 5th at a 3 figure speed. I can live with the lack of pull in 6th at these speeds. And the best thing is, no fault codes and no clutch slippages (yet)!

Only time will tell if I see an improvement in MPG but that's an issue I'm struggling with anyway. I've had the car 6 months and calculated 38 MPG in that time with mixed driving and only using Shell Vpower or BP Ultimate. I have read every post going regarding the "issue" and nothing is at fault. I done a bottle of millers and a liqui molly diesel purge too, with no improvement. I'm kinda resigned to the fact that it's the norm for my engine...unless anyone can enlighten me?

Overall, highly recommend the service Andrew supplied. He answered my questions and provided the map very quickly!

I'm driving a 2005 A4 Avant B6 1.9 TDI 130 Sport with 146K on the clock. It's an AVF engine so has the 6-speed gearbox. According to Andrew my gains are 130bhp to 162bhp and 310Nm torque to 390Nm torque. For a total of 60 quid for the lead and map, it's a no-brainer!!!

i used a mpps after struggling to read my ecu with a dodgy galletto lead, now mines been remapped a few weeks im still enjoying the pulling power and yes mines trying to spin 1st 2nd and 3rd with 19's on too, the esp light is working overtime at mo!
mpg wise now the temp has risen slightly this last week alone im getting 39mpg average driving just in town traffic and on the mway it pulls and pulls, all together im chuffed and would definately recommend andrew and black smoke remaps to anyone on here, for the price you cant beat it!

I've been reading the black smoke site and reviews since last night, also watched the remap video's on the official blacksmoke site and realised the guy in the video (not sure if its a blacksmoke sponsored video or not). uses this exact module:
SMPS MPPS DPF OFF REMOVAL Tuning Remap Chiptuning Tool | eBay

And so i have ordered this today, Even paid for the special delivery, so come monday i expect a remap to have been completed :D lol.

The video is not sponsored nor endorsed by blacksmoke but it does remove some of the smoke and mirrors professional have used in the past etc

Guys,
If you have any hesitations what so ever about doing this, ignore them! it is easier than diagnostics! it took me 5 mins to get the map on my car, it was in my mailbox about 2mins after ordering.

When reading my original map file my electric fan (engine) kept firing up, dragging the voltage down to 11.34, so i called Andrew who was more than accomodating and advised me just to unplug it (or unfuse it). so i did, read again, all perfect. ordered the map wrote it and it is absolutely amazing.

It's like driving a different car now, i cant thank you enough Andrew @ BlackSmoke!

Sadly however, i bought the 1.9 TDI as a test bed to see how id fair with an A4, Just been offered a 2.5 TDI at a silly low price so i asked Andrew and again, he can write me a map for that one too! so all in all i am very impressed with the service. Worth every penny!

I'm really interested in going for this but also quite worried because my car is on 111k with original clutch and dmf. Does anyone have an MPPS they could lend/sale me? Has anyone taken there cars on a rolling road to confirm the power gains.

Cheers,

Phil

I received my cable from ebay. The disk supplied showed blank on my system for some reason?
Anyway the seller suggested I download the program and driver from some website.

But it seems its not working for me? And I get this error screen -

'MPPS firmware upgrade ver 12.01'

Has anyone any ideas?

mine is on 125k and I am pretty sure standard also, its not slipping on mine at all.
I would recommend getting your own mpps kit as you can switch the map back to your oem one if you ever need to, it's worth the investment for the decent cable (like I bought) I paid £45 for the cable and £45 for the map, so for £90 I've got. Remap, it's not worth skimping out anymore.

Would something like this do the job? MPPS V12 remap cable OBD 2 remapping chiptuning DPF FAP Removal | eBay

My dmf seems fine, it only gets noisy if i have abused it with hard driving but then settles back normal. The clutch judders a bit in cold/damp weather but that disappears after a few miles. That's my concern!

Yeah that would be cause for concern but what you have to realise is, yes your adding torque etc it its your foot that decides how its used, if your going to do massive launches then obviously its going to come to a sad ending.

this is the cable I bought,
SMPS MPPS DPF OFF REMOVAL Tuning Remap Chiptuning Tool | eBay

i got this end because its identical to the one used in the demo videos although people have used the ones you just posted.

I've got no concerns with mine and am more than happy with the results for my 1.9 and my 2.5.

Thanks for your help. I'm usually pretty good with nursing the clutch and dmf (no booting it at low revs etc) so I think I could make it last! So was the difference night and day after the remap on the 1.9? I have a 1.9tdi AVF.

Guys did anyone run the program on Windows 7?

Yes me, and mapped perfectly.
tried it on Windows 8 but didn't actually do a map on windows 8, I just read the ecu etc and copied the existing map.

I also have the blacksmoke 165 map on my pd 130 its a very good map car has alot more power and is much smother i used the mpps lead to upload the map

hearings lots of good things about black smoke remaps both on hear and ukpassats so think ill be adding this little mod to my list to things to do :) any body local to me (midlands) able to do it though as i don't have a laptop after replacing it 3 times in one yr due to ruddy kids destroying it :(

Old thread resurrection! Remapped by 1.9 tdi sport quattro avant (engine code AVF) at the weekend with a Galletto 1260 cable, had a battery charger on the car as a precaution and the backup of my ECU went fine as did the replacing of the map. The engine fan came on both times but it didn't cause any issues.
As for the difference, hard to tell! Smoother power delivery, need to get on some quieter open roads at some point to test all gears fully, it is quicker through the gears though, my ECU code meant that my map came with the EGR turned off too, bonus.

your the same as me then... black smoke on an AVF engine with Quattro drivetrain.... you wont see huge gains but it kind of makes up for the extra weight of the Quattro system.... I didn't want anything extreme so as to start putting strain on other parts of the car.... it's just a nice little extra boost without going mad... I took mine to Darkside developments last week for a new clutch and flywheel and they knew straight away it had been mapped after their test drive to check the clutch and said they could probably improve on it ....but for me it's fine... it's a high mileage daily driver so I don't want to push it ... otherwise your just in a world of replace replace replace

You have just replaced the only thing that really suffers with remaps and thats the clutch. As you have a Quattro you will have the 240mm clutch and that takes the extra torque a lot better than the 5 speed 228mm clutch.
As said above the Blacksmoke map is a generic one that fits all and is safe as it doesn't really push the turbo much at all only 1.48 bar of boost compared to the standard 130 map 1.35 bar and something like a custom code phase 1 map at 1.51 bar.
They could improve fuel economy by advancing the injection timing a little at part throttle settings but for a no frills basic remap it fits the bill.
To anybody thinking of doing this i would strongly recommend using an MPPS lead and not a Galetto. There is no recovery option on a Galetto and if goes a bit pear shaped for what ever reason when you are mid map you have more chance of recovering it with the MPPS.
Also make sure the car is 100% OK with regards to it's running. some people try to put maps on cars with pre existing issues such as boost problems and this is never good. A car should have a full health check before being rempapped, especially to check the VNT and turbo boost control.
I have mapped one or two cars on the bench because the MPPS wouldn't connect to the ECU in the car, a rare occurence but it does seem to happen every now and then.

Karl.

never heard of Blacksmoke until i read this thread and i'm quite impressed!!

ive been wanting a map for my avant but cant justify £250+ on a map at the moment. and all i want is for it to have a bit more poke, nothing crazy power! lol

Getting near 300ftlb torque is pushing a used clutch, particularly on a awx as it's a 228mm clutch an avf is 240mm.

Lots of torque coming in too early and often has a spike is pointless as stress on clutch, loss of traction or over impedance of esp.

Even the standard map has a torque spike which can explain the slight first stages of clutch slip I had.

So I opted for a generic (not Black Smoke) 175 bhp reduced torque file.

With egr disabled and a custom 2.5" decat downpipe to Jetex 2.5" half system it made on the dyno 178.5 bhp and 265 ft lb with an incredible flat torque curve that lasted, I've seen some come and go in 500 rpm ,not even a custom remap could of been better.

I gained more in the way of a higher torque map because this map still had the torque there further up the rev range.

If this wasn't enough the icing on the cake was it cured my clutch slip, yes a map so smooth it cured clutch slip !!!

I don't have a black smoke map on my Audi, but I have used one of their maps in the past and there was no spike that you could feel at all, just a very smooth delivery of power. I had the 180bhp map on my 130pd bora and it was a very good map, but we're a bit more restricted power wise in the 130pd Audi as it has slightly smaller injector nozzles. Even when I upgraded to a 150pd turbo, and larger smic it still worked really well.
I've also put 180 maps on the 150pd mk4/bora, and the 165 maps on 130pd mk4/bora for other people and they have all been more than happy.

I might also add that a lot of people don't know how to drive a diesel to get the best acceleration, and performance without destroying the clutch when they come from a petrol, I know I didn't when I got my first Mk4 TDI 9yrs ago.

Has anyone got a Black Smoke rr printout they can post up ?

It's no good saying a map is smooth it's got to be seen to be smooth.

id stay well clear of the 2.5tdi the pd 130 with a remap is a lot faster and much more reliable and better mpg
