Morning all,

Ive been a member of this great forum since purchasing my current 8P black edition. When the 8v appeared I was a bit unsure but decided it was the the best choice.

Specced it up and ordered in February. Was told by camberley audi the car would be delivered in may. Great I thought as they had guarenteed my part ex price. End of march a quick confirmation email was sent to audi who returned saying sorry its now may/june.

A further email was sent to get a definite build day and then I got the "Unfortunately due to high demand blah blah blah the car will be pushed back to week 30 (july)" I believe. Driving home last night I was very fed up and so called them this morning, now its November with no guarenteed date. Are they serious!!!!!

Im off to the local VW garage to order a GTD today, dependant of lead times of course.

I now love the 8V but wont be messed around when spending close to £30k for a car.

Congrats to all who have received their cars and good luck to those who are waiting.

Crikey, that is a long lead time !!!!! how can they just change the dates like that i'll never know ! you'd think they could cope with demand before rolling these cars out, probably explains the reason why S3's can't be ordered.

Poor Poor service Audi !!! Treating customers this way is ridiculous.

I know its shocking. Such a shame as I do love the car just not the service. I dont want to bad mouth the dealer as its audi direct they dont filter news down to the ground.
Shocking. 8f it was a hand built rolls royce id allow nearly a year from order but not on a car that takes less than a week to produce!

That is a joke and the way they never kept you in the know with the delayed delivery makes it worse.
Welcome to the VW fold though :)

Sound like you got the standard 12 weeks to delivery shpiel when you ordred but the end July build week from a mid February order placement seemed to be realistic based on mine and others delivery lead times of around 5 months.

What does seem to stink is the fact that it's now moved to November which is 5 months from now, which seems like someone else got your order or they screwed up big time at the dealer and have only just placed your order.

Personally I would go direct to Audi UK to complain, not sure they could do anyihing for you, but you can only ask. If this is sharp practice from the dealer, worse way is dealer will get a broad side from Audi UK which might stop it in the future.

Is delivery on the Golf much quicker then? I've heard it is just as bad! Must admit, the new GTI looks lovely.

So just to clarify, it was audidirect, not the camberley audi dealer that you ordered through?

It was camberley audi but they had to call the factory direct to keep getting the updates. They didnt bother calling until I pestered them however.

Just sitting in the vw garage and bingo bango GTD is now on order with a guarenteed part ex for my car and 5% discount and half price servicing for the life of the car. It may help that my dads just also ordered one at the same time on the same terms.

Its a shame as I prefer the interior of the A3 but having just sat in the GTI they have here (Citygate in high wycombe) Its a lovely car with most stuff standard and cheaper than the audi oh and more POWER!!!!

Expected delivery is october so a month before the audi. Oh and I actually was mistaken audi said week 48 so december.

That is ludicrous .... for an A3 !

Great cars but come on, the A3 is a high volume car, what are Audi playing at ?

Golf GTi's could be had within 3 months for those who ordered early, but I would guess it is longer now as the car is getting rave reviews.

I went from 3 months to 6 months to 7.5 months.... Each time after I chased rather than being informed. Finally got it now and was worth the wait. I guess it's one in, one out... This is my first audi and am already hooked......

Ordered mine end feb, delivery june10th. S-line 2.0tdi Daytona comfort pack heated seats & sat nav. Do some dealers have preferential delivery terms..........die not seem consistent :-((
